Happy chrimbo journal, 34 days in today and time for some Christmas reflection

I've been
on here five months now or maybe six. Its been a very bumpy road and I've prob spent about six hundred on gambling since I've been on here ill add it up tomo. I'm def making progress and I want to stop which is the main thing. My longest period on here without a bet is 40 days and each time I've stopped gambling its been for near enough the month mark. I've stopped smoking joined
A gym and tried to find ways of spending my spare time productively. I've been to Austria skiing and to cyress and zante in 2015. I've also bought a flat and now have a mortgage to to keep paying each month. I decorated the flat and now rent it out whilst I live with my parents for another year or two or untill they show signs of wanting me to move out. I'm pretty sensible with money and although I don't earn alot 8 pounds an hour I make my money go a long way

I'm now saving for money for when I move in and should I not gamble I should have quite a bit for furnitur and a new tv for the new flat next year. I decided that
Id live with my parents another year and a half. I'm a bit worried about living on my own again as I've lived with my parents for six years now and am used to it and it will take a bit of getting used to paying all the bills and holding down a job on my own. I've done it before tho so it should be fine

Really wanted to play poker today, even went to a casino after work, aaaaaaarrrrrggghh, signed up , then decided not to play and continue my run. Boy that was close. then

20th November was the last time I gambled, starting an open university course tonight

Well done Adam - signing up for the Course means you're doing something important. Something which opens up other avenues and leads to a more fulfilling life. That's as a good a barrier to gambling as anything. No doubt the course will be tough at times but just remember why you're doing it.
All the best
Louis
Thanks Louis your post means a lot, the first course I'm doing is on money management which I know a lot about being a gambler. Here's to putting my money to good use now cheers
