well just got back from yorkshire for new years

i not been about for a bit over the xmas period, but catch up when i can, i have to say when i logged on tonight to see how people are and whether they had good new years i was slighty disturbed with some peoples actions over last few days, this site is here to recover from a terrible addiction, and i have been helped greatly along the way.

im not gonna get drawn in to any discussions about the goings on recently from what i can make out

all i will say is thankyou to the people i have kept in contact with and believe/know are genuine

well the urges are coming this evening/morning

Think its cos its first time since I quit I will be going to a football match in fact even watching a whole match, I got on here for bit to read some diaries, and the urges pass while I realise it does me more harm than good

to keep all in loop

I managed to stay away from bookies and in pub for footy, had great day by not betting, was watching pennies but had good laugh for next to nothing.

Keep up great work all

Hello Mate,

I wouldn't recommend putting ourselves through torture too often as I honestly don't think we would resist. However, the occasional test of our resolve to measure our progress whether intentional or unintentional can be a good thing. A boost can be found in the strangest of places and by resisting yesterday you found that boost.

I might be wide of the mark but I will say it anyway those who are successful in arresting this addiction are the ones who are consistent. The ones who get their thoughts down daily or every couple of days. They keep gambling close, they don't lose sight of their problem and you fall into that category. You adopt the correct philosophy in my opinion and you thoroughly deserve happiness and content.
