Morning Mate,

Cheers for the post! I think mad prob sums me up but love my Saturday morning play in a really good well organised league so it's not hard getting up even in the cold!

Honestly never heard of first plan, but your 16 week marathon training sounds intense! I'm not one for promoting late night US commercials but the Insanity program is extremely good and it's great for cardio! I only mention this because towards the end of last year doing that and then going for a couple of runs I found I was running quicker than ever! I have let it go over Xmas but determined to get back on it as it really stripped me down and I enjoyed feeling as fit as I was! Try gumtree as people sell Insanity for about £40 and it's well worth that money!!

I think as Charl said you are extremely determined and you will fly through this training and smash the marathon!!

Oh and most importantly you are really close now to 6 months that is an awesome achievement so keep doing what works buddy!

Hi carl, what you have put into your recovery , your diary, support to others and your marathon training is nothing short of amazing. Be proud mate and when you run over that finish line you will know your marathon training was like recovery you made a plan you stuck to it , it was painfull and really hard at times , but you did it one step at a time and the feeling that you have made every step worth it . Take care blondie

Morning,

Just to reply to yesterday. I think Insanity is a brilliant program it is tough and I mean extremely tough. Obviously being someone who keeps fit you will have a decent level of fitness but don't be surprised if you find it really hard, it absolutely hammered me. However, it really will strip you down.

Just to second what Charl said I too hope the meet up can be sorted it would be brilliant to meet a few of the good people on this site with you high up on that list mate.

day 172

not such a good start to the week, jan being a tough month and seems so long, got up for work when i got in i had speeding ticket waiting for me but i have no one else to blame so just gonna take it, there was a time when i would of gone running to bookies to pay for it but those times have passed, one thing i have noticed during this journey is now i dont worry about money if i have a little to spend then good if not least im not mounting up a debt.

Hi Carl

I think the snow's heading here soon- I'm sure there were flakes earlier 🙁

No chance of a speeding ticket in this weather 🙂

Your progress so far is brill- keep notching up the days. Isn't it lovely to notice the small changes in ourselves? I think that's why enjoy writing and reading folk's diaries.

Take care (and wrap up warmly)

Irene
