Waw last night was difficult for me . Luckily due to blocks being in place i was not able to gamble but urges are still there sometimes especially bank holidays. I had been busy all day washing, cleaning , clearing and felt really pleased with myself- usually my reward would have been to gamble!!!! Funnily enough!!! However things have changed luckily but it difficult. Feeling so glad this morning though. I still have money in the bank so I am grateful. 65 days is a long time to be gamble free for me and I cannot wait to add more days gf to my name

Keep going.

I totally get what you’re saying.

I had a fortnight off over Easter, have this long weekend and on both occasions have had time alone in house with a dodgy TV box and 80+ channels of sport!

I enjoyed yesterday (watched several footie matches and followed ups and downs in other leagues, the big horse race, some MMA and the basketball until I fell asleep) and all with the hangover from hell.

That combination would have previously sent me into a spiral and it’s the first time in a while that thoughts crept in. On reflection, thoughts will creep in with hours of exposure to things I used to bet on and the constant advertising accompanying it. Even lovely Jurgen Klopp wore the name of a company more prominently than the club crest!!

You got through your urges and finances remain unscathed. Yes, you didn’t “make” any money and if you had you’d have spent it again + more.  We both know that!

like anything in life, I think that getting through these low points makes us stronger? At the risk of sounding patronising....well done!!

Hi. I can empathize with that too. Long weekends mean free time and lots of sport. Normally at this time of year I d be betting on snooker as well as football. No gambling means keeping busy in healthier ways. And my house has never looked so clean and tidy :). I m roughly a fortnight behind you but it was good to reach the half century. Only 7 weeks but it’s amazing how life can feel so different after a short period of time.

Well done to you mate. Cheers.

Well done mate, it’s not easy.

the urges are less and less but little things help, plan, even being alone you can get through it with planning, turn off the football at half time....NO ADS!! Having blocks on the internet has been a godsend for me but the single biggest thing in my mind that is getting me through this , is that’s this is it for me...NOW OR NEVER , no more chances, I’ve now got a plan and i CAN get out of trouble if I stick to this plan, if I gamble again that’s it for me, I will destroy my future.Planning every day, I now feel I’m not a greedy man, I now feel I’m gonna have a better life, I just wish I did this 10 years ago.

i can now watch footy, I go to footy , I now have no urges to gamble, I’m keeping away from folk I know gamble.Every day is a small battle, keep going as this does get easier but always beware the monster will try and kill you, one day, some day.Be aware.

Thanks all of you for your support- we are all very similar and i praise all of you - you are doing so well. We all need this inner strength- it is a battle that i have to win myself but now is different to before as i have blocked myself and as each day passes the feeling i have is great its as if i am winning! I’ve had enough of giving those awful gambling companies my money - no more this is my money i want to keep it!! Good luck all of you
