Thanks folks for your lovely messages.
Good Saturday morning diary,
369 days today of abstaining maintaining and winning in every way.
Went to Asda with little man yesterday afternoon, and I told him, he could have a treat, a new toy lol, ohh nanny he said, I will show you where the cheap ones are, (he's not 4 yet lol) of course he shouted it out in excitement and obviously I received a few surprised looks from shoppers, I quickly answered him saying Nanny is going to win again today, because I have made the right choice, you can choose now, you can have 2 cheapie toys, or one more expensive, his answer did not surprise me lol, the more expensive one, he already knows quality is far better than quantity, (and he can get a cheap one anytime).
The quality of being in recovery 100% outweighs the quantity of what I lost in gambling, and like LMs toy my recovery will not break when under attack lol.
Wishing everyone a happy, strong and positive gambling free weekend.

Have a great Sunday.

Thanks Sandra and Steve xx
Good Sunday morning diary,
370 reads great Steve lol.
Have to say I think I dreamt about gambling because I woke up with a start and felt all panicky and guilty and stressed for a minute,
I don't miss those feelings one IOTA that sinking sick feeling in the bottom of the stomach, was soo relieved I was panicking for nothing. Lol HDs indeed.
It's absolutely chucking it down here in Yorkshire, but I think it's a little warmer today, (positive thinking lol).
Busy day ahead, going to the Whiterose shopping centre to look at Pay as you go phones, have been looking on EBay, but nothing stood out. Have ordered a Giff Giff SIM card online and that should be here in a couple of days.
Then we are off to OHs friends pub about 20 miles away, for a couple of drinks, (son may be coming with his OH) and then it will be back home to a nice roast chicken Sunday dinner, followed by a couple of movies, that OH downloads.
Can't ask for a nicer Sunday than this today, HDs, and of course after waking up in a panicky sweat, choice for today definitely sealed, abstaining and maintaining, and that does feel good.
Wishing everyone a happy, calm and strong gambling free day.

Hi
Suzanne
Statistics are very scarce as to relapse figures. Understandably its hard to keep track of an addict & get them to answer questions honestly especially if they have suffered relapses. The only ones i have heard are these but how accurate they are iz anyones guess.
Approx 95-97% of people relapse within a year
Approx 50% of people will relapse between 1 & 5 years
Approx 15% of people will suffer relapse after 5 years.
Personally i dont think its possible to be accurate with these studies & they are a bit of a wild guess. But they are probably in the right ball park.

Hi Suzanne
Raining here in the Fens too but I also think it feels warmer ( she says under the quilt with thermal PJ's and a thick dressing gown on! ).
Enjoy your day it sounds wonderful to just visit friends and have "normality" again doesn't it
Be proud as I am for you

Morning Suzanne.
371 days of abstinence is a wonderful number. Getting closer to the 400 mark.
Such an inspiration to all of us.
Have a great bank holiday.

Good morning diary,
371 days of winning,
Picked up a lovely phone yesterday, more like a mini computer lol, but love it, not in use yet as I have to wait for my SIM card to come through the post, but am getting quite patient lately, another gift from being in recovery lol. HDs indeed.
Chilling out day today, in the garden (I hope) supposed to be 20 degrees today, and I can chill now because the self destruction of gambling is not going round 24/7 in my head.
Wishing everyone a strong, happy and stress free gambling free Monday.

Hi Suzanne,
I look forward to the day when the aftermath of my gambling is not churning round my head 24/7.
Glad you like your phone and good to see you continuing to post even after having reached the year mark. Many people disappear after having reached a landmark gamble free.
warm regards... S.A
Hi Suzanne just wanted to say well done for getting to a year I look at a lot of your posts for other people and u are so helpful! I know you were to me in the early days ! Xx
Hi Suzanne
A journey of 100 miles starts with one step, you have taking many of those steps and can begin to see your past in the rear view mirror getting further away, the future on the other hand draws ever closer, great discipline, keep it up,
