Thanks Sandra and Duncs for your continuing support

Good morning diary

125 days of winning and not losing that feels good

Little Man (grandson) coming round this morning

He is 3 tomorrow and yes I have some cash to buy him a pressie and I feel proud that I have not used any spare cash for gambling

It won't be a biggie about 30 quid but 4 months ago I did not have 30 pence it must sound stupid but it is a big achievement for me to be giving and not taking to feed those slots

Payday in five days but I have enough money to last til then and all bills and debts are up to date and one more PD loan, when paid will be done and dusted

Feeling very positive and strong this morning

Abstaining and maintaining one day at a time and 100% committed to a happier and healthier gambling free life

Wishing everyone a positive and strong gambling free day

Suzanne xx

Well done on 125 days a fantastic achievement, an inspiration, it proves it can be done.

It will be a massive relief once those payday loans are out the way, I'm gonna pay mine this week, and I intend to email wong a and ask for my account to be closed due to gambling problems, I don't think I would of borrowed of them if they didn't give u the funds instantly, in that mad gambling haze that I've often found myself in when chasing, its the only time I seek payday loans.

I'm gonna go to the extreme of ordering a new debit card and scratching of the cv2 number on the back so I can't use online for wong a or any gambling site, needs must for a happy gamble free life.

Hope u enjoy your grandsons birthday, very precious.keep posting.

Well done Suzanne

You are doing so well and must be so pleased to able to buy your grandson a present. These things may seem so little to others but are huge milestones for people like us.

Keep at it, life is looking good for you.

Hi Suzanne,

Great work on those 125 days, and the small pleasures of money that would last barely a minute in our gambling days are often some of the best. Being able to do for others is also one of the things that recovery has to offer the gambling addict, and I'm sure it will keep on giving back to you on your journey.

Hope the rest of Sunday is treating you as well as this morning was!

Hi Suzanne,

Just wanted to come here and say thank you for your kind comments on my journal, you are correct in everything you say and I will continue to try and take one day at a time.

I have started reading your journal as well now, and I'm so glad I did - 127 days is another great achievement and it's great, so great for new recoverers like me to read stories like yours that inspire a bit of hope for life changing for the better. Keep up the diary, it's helping everyone here -and stay strong you are doing just fantastically !

Best regards

FM.

Bear, too right each day not gambling is a happy one (looking outside the box) lol x

FM ,early on in my diary I wrote I was in a new beginning but that there is no end to the new beginning abstaining I believe is a lifetime commitment x

Good morning diary

Have been reading and posting for a couple of hours this morning and I have to say I am very proud to be walking along side everyone on here because this journey of recovery whether 1 day clean or 1000 we are all one step away from gambling and very vulnerable if we do not choose that right choice which simply is to abstain and maintain one day at a time

We should all be very proud of ourselves for even just admitting to ourselves that we have become addicted to this awful self destructive addiction

I have not read yet from any fellow CG any 100% closure to gambling

We should not take this as a negative because it is like say having a permanent injury that makes us someway disabled without it showing and people do live with permanent injuries and lead a normal happy life

We can live with this injury and be happy accepting it we just have to make that right choice

As Duncs says we can be happy warts and all

Everyone goes through life carrying some sort of baggage but the gambling baggage can only get lighter and lighter as we keep moving forwards and getting on with our lives and that has to be soooo positive for each and everyone of us on here

Day 126

I am home alone on holiday for a week the weather is supposed to be good I have enough money til pay day which is Friday

I have planned my day because the MONDAY does not bother me any more and that is another achievement for me and it feels soo good to write that

I am cutting the lawns cleaning the windows taking doggie a long walk

I have decided that I am having a me week looking after myself on the inside and outside

The days have gone when I went to my hairdressers at 40 to 50 quid a time but I have managed the last year to get it cut at a hairdressers come barbers where you don't need an appointment you wAlk in and they cut it

It takes 5 mins and only costs a fiver

With my wonderful GHD straighteners and colouring my own hair I don't think it looks any different I have a bob hairstyle so it's easy to cut and manage so that is on my list this week so is swimming

It was lovely to give my little man his birthday pressie yesterday not one but 2 his face was a picture

I know how I would have felt if I could not have brought him anything but because of abstaining and maintaining one day at a time it does make it a happy day as The Bear said on my thread

I sincerely wish everyone on here a happier and stronger gambling free day

Suzanne xx

Well done Suzanne. Yeah we don,t need a lot of money to get joy out of life. As long as you have enough to live on you can get bye until your debts have ran down
