Hi wp,glad things are a lot more positive for you this week and you have seen the kids a few times,i know your putting a lot of hours in at work currently, so it's really good to read that you have a nice day out to look forward to at St Andrews on Thursday....,and for free!!!,you will enjoy it i'm sure.
Seano.
Hi Post, great to be able to attend one of these international events without bothering who is going to be the top non-european in the top 10 and other things that are nigh on impossible to predict. Good luck to those who feel that they must bet on such events but The odds are so much in the favour of the bookies that as usual there will be probably only one winner. If I was picking one golfer out should the weather be blustery, it would be Edfors but he is either brilliant or misses the cut most times.
Good news that you have seen the kids again and hopefully this can now become a regular thing again.
Like you I get upset by certain other diaries. As I have been advised--my own recovery shoukld be the most important thing and indee it is but that does not stop me hoping that all the other poor souls on here can also find it in them to move on and away from gambling. Alas I am afraid that it is probably a battle that can never be won as some will be too weak to try hard enough and others will be mislead by that type of person. Ah well it would be a weird world if that were the case.
Have a great time at St Andrews.
All the best

Hi wp, many thanks for the kind words.
I find it extremely gratifying when people such as yourself, Stumper and Sean (plus others) take time out from your own battle with our problem, to pass on advice and encouragement. It really gives me a boost and helps to show that with commitment and the right mind set, it can be done.
Thankyou
Cheers for the post wp.
I appreciate your concern and i know that it is genuine.
I can understand how it may seem strange to you that i was so determined to avoid a bet at the races and yet now i am pondering a bet on the golf. I think it comes down to the fact that having a small interest on the golf has never caused me any pain and it is actually something i have always derived enjoyment from.
I'm jealous of your trip to St Andrews mate. I would say that it is pretty much my favourite place in the world. I get goosebumps just thinking about standing on that first tee.
Have a great time and keep up the good work.
Hi big fella. Thanks again for your post. Having read my diary you know where I stand on your recent posts. It's taken me 16 years to work it out but I'm happy I'm there! I feel so relaxed and content. You are a good man trying to make amends. Enjoy the golf and I hope the weather is good for you.
All the best
Russ

hi wp, thanks for your post and support on my duary, it gave me a much needed lift.
Glad you got to see your kids at the weekend, you must have been chuffed.
i see you are off to St Andrews - i have a very very happy memory of a day spent there in the 90's - i had been to Kircaldy the day before with 3 friends, and we had a great time and decided to go the the next day to St Andrews - it was a beautiful summers day and it was a time when i had been off gambling for nearly 5 years so i had no money worries, and a care free life - and we all had a great day, great company, great food, and loads of laughs.
Hope you enjoy your time there as much as i did.

When gambling the weather was always gloomy--when not gambling I find I always feel sunny inside whatever it is doing outside.
Glad to see things are a little more positive for you mate.

Hi post,
Glad to see things have eased up for you a bit, and I hope things continue to improve as i'm sure they will.
I hope you enjoy the golf as i'm sure you will. I'm watching it this morning on tv and the weather is nearly as gloomy as Tiger's face!! -4 and a face like a smacked a**e. Unreal.
Anyway well done in your continued recovery.
Stay Strong
Steve

Hi wp, hope you had a great day yesterday, what a round of golf by the young man from Northern Ireland. Could have been even better had he not missed the birdie putt on 17. Oh well, hes happy but a long way to go.
All the best,
Mark..
