Do I get a prize for being number 800?!

You seem to have now gone over a stressful period, well done!

Life would be boring if we did not have any of those stressful bits - as long as gambling does not return into our lives..

Stay strong mate and keep up the great work.

Hey there wp

Sorry I haven't been around to give you support when things weren't so good for you.

Thank you very much for your kind words in my diary.

Glad you are more positive now. You deserve it. You have worked hard and are still working hard at your recovery.

I will try and pop in more often, but can't make any promises. It all depends on how I feel.

All the best

God Bless

Charly/Sabine

Hey wp,

Thanks for your post a few weeks ago, sorry I disappeared but as you mentioned it can get a bit confrontational on here from time to time, but mainly it was just laziness on my part. Sorry to read through the problems you've been having with the ex and access to the kids, I can only imagine how it would tear you apart.

Hope that your visit to St Andrews went well, enjoyed watching it on the box and Oosthuizen got a lucky break with the weather in the second round but I think he was a deserving winner based on his performance in the following two rounds, didn't buckle at all and just kept going with solid rounds.

Mate of mine is going to the Ryder Cup just down the road when it's on, lucky B*****r.

Hope all goes well with you mate, you deserve some good breaks of your own.

All the best

Ryan

many thanks as usual kim, november, charly, seano, leedso, mark, daves, stumper, yorkie and rob from the staff....i had an absolute fantastic day out on thursday at st.andrews...seano it is a lovely place and as curly has stated makes the hairs on the back of your neck stick up,a golfers paradise and obviously your not into golf lol..another point the university has been prone to have royalty studying there in the past so cannot be that bad and also has one o the finest fish and chips shops in scotland lol...anyways managed to grab a seat at the back of the 2nd green and could see the 16th green as well as the 3rd and 17th tees so an ideal vantage point..we sat there for hours on end and so some real legends of the game play...must admit the lad oosthuizen past me by tho lol...even tho i got in for free the £60 charge for what potentially could be over 12 hours entertainment is well worth the money alone compared to the £40/£50 whatever it is to watch an hour and halves dross of the premiership footballers in my opinion....it was my step kids birthday on sat day and she had a thouroughly enjoyable day as well...late finish from work yesterday and absolutely no gambling issues to report whatsoever at present...going round tonight to see the kids again, life is good at present even though am hugely in debt and skint i am starting to have tiny amounts left over for the following payday and never could say that had i been gambling...today i wont bet tomorrow i wont bet we can do this my friends... 😉

Life is better for us all without gambling its just sometimes you cant see the golf ball because of the sand!! getting in to the swing of it!! thats a good way of putting it!! ha ha got it doon to a tee now!! silly old birdie!! loll missed your posts whilst you were off sunning yourself!!!

onwards and upwards we go!!

Good to see that things are going better for you at the minute mate and long may it last.

I don't know about you but if I had two faces both of them would be smiling right now and glad that the everyday madness of compulsive gambling is being left behind.

Keep smiling

Stumper

Hi wp,

Sounds like you had a really fantastic day out at St. Andrews. I used to play an awful lot of golf around 15 years ago and played off a handicap of 10. But my new job and subsequent gambling problems put paid to this. Once I get myself sorted and save myself lots of money each month, this is something that I may consider again.

You're so right, you really can get huge value for money on a day out like this. We just need to be very selective on how we spend our limited money at the moment whilst we are in recovery but there a plenty of things that we can do without having to spend much.

Like a day trip to the park taking lunch and drink with you.

Or a day at the seaside taking food and drink with you. And staying WELL CLEAR of the bright lights, of course!

Or just going out for a run along a scenic route - completely free unless you need to drive there...

There are plenty to do at a minimum cost.

Stay strong, and keep up the great work.

Thanks seano and november....yes seano good catching up today...its amazing how similar our problems were...d**n betting exchanges grr. !!! November your right too about the free things in life...I used to tell my councillor that I loved the fresh air of a day out at the races...needless to say I was soon shot down in flames with the things you just mentioned....tonight I have had the company of the little one whilst my ex stayed upstairs...we had so much fun even my step kid joined in...then after watchin toy story 2 for about the 10 millionth time (she is not the type to settle in bed for 7 o c) I carried her upstairs and tucked her cosily into bed...that beats hammering a 5/4 shot anyday...tonight I am happy see what tomorrow brings...one things for sure I won't be gambling....we can do this folks 🙂

Nice to hear you having fun again with the children, you don't ask for much and the pleasure your children give you is one money couldn't buy anyway! I truly hope you can continue in this way.

Hi wp,

Thanks for posting and yes i think you are right that the demons are reappearing because friday is on the horizon.Going to be tough but i haven't come this far to blow it now.

Nice to see you have spent some quality time with kids and can see just from your post that has made a huge difference to you.

Hopefully this will be the start of a much happier time for you where they are concerned.

Big respect for all your efforts to help others and would love to do the same, but after only 40 or so days dont think i am the most qualified at the min.

Keep it up,

Phil
