Love seeing that big 1 when I come to your diary 🙂 first day back on track! Don't forget to tick completing this survey off your day one list. Blanket self exclusion in the uk. It's a start I guess, hope they tackle the adverts next!

Your diary is amazing, I got to Day 200 and the positivity and skipped to the end to see how you were going. I am only on Day 1, so am trying to re-set my thinking. I hope your successful in being GF. Take care. x J

Not stressed because you've lost more tho! Always a positive to no gambling 🙂 I know the finance part is scary, but you can totally handle it! X

Day 5 - 11/1/17

Yep stress due to other things and the after math of gambling. At least staying gamble free will be one less thing to stress about

Hi. I have read through a lot of this diary and i saw that you went over 300 days without gambling and were doing excellent. I noticed not many people on here have actually said much about your OH's gambling so i will. Have you had it out with them about it and said you want to stop and for that to be posssible i need you to stop aswell. My OH has never bailed me out when i have lost and i would not expect her too. Thankfully i always leave enough back for all essentials and even a few treats, the only money i have ever gambled with is spare cash tbh but i am currently on day 46 of no gambling and it feels great. My OH looks after her finances really well and she now looks after mine so i am allowed pocket money each week, might sound silly but it actually works. Have you got any parents/relatives you could ask to look after savings for you so that you know you wont be able to have easy acess to it. In the meantime i would have a serious converstaion with your OH and put some foundations in place. It is only january, where do you want be come the summer and next winter for example. Stay strong and dont give into the demon of gambling.

Closing in on a week again 🙂 maybe try your mini reward system again like you did right back at the start if an option? That worked really well for you before. Hugs and happiness to you xx

Day 7 - 13/1/16

Thanks both. I actually did reward myself with a half price massage yesterday. Chuffed at seeing a week in here.

I was the good one in the relationship. Always been excellent with money and actually quite intelligent believe it or not. I hated the OH gambling and still do So how did I turn into this too!!! It's beyond explanation it's practically insane. But here I am. The difference is I am willing to try. I may fail sometimes but at least I do try. I nearly got to a year and I was proud I don't know what happened. Like smoking it took me a while. But I am 4 years free now of that too

Had an urge yesterday night resisted trying to stay positive

Well done Hun x a week is fantastic, remember right back at the beginning when you were doing 12 hr and 24 hr rewards. We've come a long way 🙂 my situation is so similar, I was the sensible one, good with money. I think my reason for getting In this mess started with fear of him losing so trying to win where he lost (resiculous isn't it) and then resentment cos he would be glued to his phone so if you can't beat em, join em mentality ensued. Our coping mechanism are complex notions. It practically turned in to a form of self harming?!

Done with hurting myself because I'm afraid of what might happen in a situation which is out of my control, but could/will impact on my quality of life.

No fear! No more beating ourselves up for not being 'the good ones'. Milestones and rewards is where we're at now!! 🙂 xx

Day 12 - 18/1/17

Thanks red. Looking forward to it. Still got a knot in my chest. Need to ace up to the financial damage and work out a plan. It's going to take months just to get back on top of paying for things on time :/
