Hi Marc,

Thanks for your post on my thread.

You are right about treating my husband and family, I dont think we realise the true impact of gambling on our families untill we are in a place where we have nowhere to go, only then do we listen to how destructive and selfish this whole thing has caused.

Like you, my desire to stop has never been stronger, I too have enrolled with Step Change after my last attempt to stop, unfortunately I have taken out more pay day loans since and I am not sure they will accept me adding on more debts to my plan?

However, regardles of whether they do or not I can see light at the end of the tunnel, I will continue to struggle with debts for a short while but after Christmas I can see things getting much much better.

I like you have found so much support and optimism from attending GA meetings, my only regret is I never attended earlier but we are at the here and now and looking to the future so this is all positive stuff now.

I am so glad you have a totally supportive family and all along have said if we are honest with each other it will make the recovery much easier.

My best wishes Marc to you for continued success and happiness, I will continue to follow your diary.

Hope x

HI Hope - really hope that Step Change will accept your additions - payday loans are just way too easy for the weak (and that is what we are when we are gambling) so fingers crossed they will help you. Honest really is the best policy - then you dont dread the phone ringing, the letter landing on the hall, the knock at the door. Good luck Hope x

Good morning. Just thought I would check in. All is still good with me - last bet Friday 12th July and still feeling positive. Financially, mentally and emotionally better off than i have been in a long time. Hope you are all choosing the right path. I also take this opportunity to wish you all a great Christmas. Marc

Thanks Duncs - in the early days of my continued recovery I took great strength from your kind wise words - glad my story is now helping people aswell.

Hardtimes - stick with it - every day gets better, makes sure you talk to people and as Duncs says - make the right choice. I will now go and ready your diary - be strong mate, be strong
