Day 86

Feeling pretty good today, slept really well last night.

Problematic day at work but keeping in high spirits! Coming up to 3 months off the gambling which is probably a 10 year record for me.

Day 88 today.

No real thoughts of gambling. Aside from the odd, I'll just have £1 on a 30000/1 bet every week to try and clear my debt thought...

It will just stay a thought, I'm too experienced in this game now!

Went to a class at the gym last night and can see me being in serious pain today! Feeling better for it though.

Saw the Leeds Festival line up yesterday and some people I'd really like to watch but probably going to have to pass, not sure I've got the funds. Seems like this year is my busiest ever when I have less money than ever, sods law!

Glad to see you are still going strong a day ahead of me! I've seen the T In The Park line up and would love to go, but I'm not sure more pressure on my finances is a good idea. Keep up the fight mate, stay that day ahead!

Day 92 today, quickly approaching the ton.

quite a few urges to gamble if I'm honest. Mainly worries about loads of things coming up and me not being able to afford them.

Managed to beat the urges and even stood with my friends as he pumped a few £ into a fruity today, I didn't envy him one bit.

Getting back into my fitness now and it really help with my mood, would recommend exercise as a natural antidepressant to anyone.

Day 93.

Probably the strongest urges to gamble since I first stopped over the last few days. Main thoughts are telling me a little flutter could lead to a small win which could help with some short term money problems.

I'm feeling strong enough to deal with the urges though which makes me feel good and confident.

Day 94

No urges to gamble really in the last 24 hours which is a big turn around, sometimes you just have to ride out the urges.

Each day I'm racking up I'm feeling better, I'm not out of the woods yet, but edging towards some sort of recovery.

Whilst I have major debt worries I feel I can deal with anything if I have ridden myself of the curse of gambling.

Hey mate, sorry to hear you had struggles with urges, but glad they have subsided. This time last year I found I was so dedicated to recovery and was loving life, but then I hit day 100 and just got fed up of this place and was taking no pleasure from the fight. The urges came back and I fought them off tillI I slipped. Looking back I think it was down to the fact I still had lies and hidden debts. This time round for me everything is out in the open and I feel that is a big help as lies and secrets are tied closely to our gambling. Stay strong and don't give in to the urges. Keep working on new barriers to make that first bet harder to make!!

Phil

Day 96

Feeling pretty good, strong enough to deal with any urges

I realise that a lot of my friends bet regulary and when I quit I thought I wouldn't have much to do. But since I've come out of that bubble I've found the majority of people that I know don't bet at all. Refreshing to see people don't need to gamble for entertainment.

I found gambling all my wage away as normal as getting up for work, I'm now seeing much clearer and whilst I know some people can gamble small amounts I know there is no chance I can ever gamble again.

I must admit I played a spot the difference machine the other night, but purely for entertainment, you can win money but don't think I've won a £1 in years on them! Didn't feel any urges once I'd finished and didn't play on it because I wanted to win money, just a little bit of entertainment with my mate.

Hi tears,

Well done you on 96 days, and feeling pretty good to deal with any nasty urges is the way to keep going forwards.

You have come a long way, be very proud.

Day 99

Looking forward to going to triple digits tomorrow!

Been really busy this weekend which helps take away any urges.

All my blockers are working such as no access to any big sums of money and being self excluded from all online accounts. I could easily get round these or pop to the bookies with the wifes credit card but I choose not too so quite proud of that!

Well done on your 100 days mate, I'm still a day behind you and I would like to remain like that. You've made great progress, keep making the right choices. Don't get complacent, every day is a challenge but by making that choice not to gamble life will only go one way! Enjoy your day 100 celebratory pint on Monday night!

Cheers Phil!

100 days is here and feel really good. 101 days ago I wasn't thinking straight and repeatably making the same mistake again. Now I'm consistantly making the right choices and feeling much better for it.

Next target is 101 days! Don't need to think much further in advance, just keep making the same choices daily and the days will mount up.

Nothing really planned to celebrate tonight, had an action packed weekend so a night in front of the telly watching football is what is required.
