Takes about 24 hrs for that email mate dont worry about the mrs mate. She has her own process she may not be accepting it. brushing it off u should try explain ur feelings to her. I wrote mine a v v long letter! You know my story at least she is by ur side mate! Urges are v normal people in recovery for a few years still have them that's why abstaining is better for some people as well thing leads to another....

So glad you didn't give up, an important step forwards.

You just need to keep focussed and remember that gradually things will change for the better over time. Gambling doesn't normally just affect the gambler and sometimes we need to make allowances for others reactions to things.

Well done on pulling back and u have to keep pulling back mate as im sure u will find a few more triggers over the next few weeks and when u read ur last post back to urself when everything has calmed down im sure there are plenty of people out there who would shake their head and tell u that u last post was a true gamblers kop out ive blamed doin my bank on the mrs the kids the internet the pundits on the tv said it wouldnt win and all that when in reallity it was just down to me i might gamble as an escape but u can but u can put fifty pence on as an escape gambler to relieve the stress we just use 200 and 500 and then look for somebody to hang it on

Glad ur still winning ur battle and this is a message of support as sometimes things can be taken the wrong way it also sounds like ur from round our neck of the woods from ur post mate .......good luck keep going

Well day 9 mixed today but keeping strong as alway sometimes you don't know how strong you are until being strong is the only option!

Another quote I've always held On to

'When you come out of the storm, you wont be the same Person that walked in, that's what the storm is all about! '

Well I hope I come out of my storm GF forever!

Well will go into double digits tomorrow 10 days don't think I've ever got this far ever!

Feel like every day that goes by makes it that little bit more less likely I'll ever go back to gambling!

Well done on getting to double figures, it'll soon be treble figures before you know it. Think of all the other milestones you'll be achieving first, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, a month etc.... Small steps definitely at first, needing to keep the guard up most definitely.

Perhaps you can look at rewarding yourself with a small treat now and then, when you reach a milestone. Doesn't have to be massive, but something nice, with a fraction of the money you will have saved, by not gambling.

So come into town today normally i would disappear for few hours in one of the gaming places prob by now I would be few £100 down feeling depressed, hopeless like giving up on life, but instead bought my self few new bits, spent a fraction of the money and feel very good about it, was hard tho all I've thought about is just popping in for 10 mins but we all know it never works like that so no I stayed strong and am I glad I did!

Yep 10 minutes, never is 10 minutes. Just £20 is never just £20 for anyone with a gambling problem.

I'm became very dubious about town arcades by the time I quit. I simply don't trust a lot of the staff, let alone the sharks who are in there watching your every move, until you do your money and they can jump straight on in your place. They became quite seedy places IMO over the years.

What do you get for your hundreds of pounds loss also, a glass of orange juice and a curled up sandwich, if you're offered it.

No thanks rather keep my money for other things.
