Thanks again, I am actually laughing out loud at the smashing Mr gambles face in. I love that. Brilliant!.
Yes downfall is my phone as I wouldn't go to a bookies or casino. Everything is so easily accessible and adverts are constant. I'm waiting for the triggers which will be pay day I may just take the cash out of my account and lose my card until he following. I just want a taste of what my life will be like without gambling so I can appreciate it, if that makes sense.

Of course that makes absolute sense! I think it's a great idea 🙂 I think the trick when the new card arrives is to get someone to scratch off the CVV number so you can't use it online but again, untested waters for me! If you do that, make sure you keep your cash safe, some unscrupulous people out there following folk off from banks & distracting them whilst helping themselves to the money!

Did you see the post from Sandra?

Hello love, thanks for message on my diary it means a lot! And welcome to GC, you have definitely come to the right place to get the ball rolling into recovery....

There are many tools you can arm yourself with to help you abstain from gambling, but the sharpest, strongest and most powerful tool in your box needs to be you, I would never have realized this myself, but I had councilling from the beginning of my recovery, the other tools in my box were gamcare forum, councilling, and having no access to my funds (I think the idea of getting somebody to rub the last 3 digits off the back of ur card is a really good idea btw!!!)

Have you ever gave one on one counseling a thought? I picked my local paper up 1 day in December last year and across the front page was an article about a recovering gambling addict who had tried to take her own life twice, I read the article and instantly felt like my story was similar to hers, she explained in the article that she had started receiving one on one sessions of counseling and that it had changed her life.... So I picked the P

Hi there

I am trying again and know the feelings you have expressed. It is strange as if you don't deserve to have any money and have a normal existence. Keep going this time and take the advice from those unlike me who are getting somewhere in defeating this horrible addiction. Good luck.

Welcome to double figures 🙂

Sometimes all you need to do is stop & think, long enough & hard enough to realise that what you are doing is throwing away recovery...Impulses, urges, they all pass eventually! Recovery is what will make your future brighter, give you your life back!
