Hi Weldy, I'm awake too for much the same reasons. The dog's not well, could have vet bills. And they are always big. Should have been a vet.
Hang in there. Seems like you're working your socks off, your debts won't get any bigger with abstaining. ODAAT, its all you can do. Take care, you are in charge of your destiny, Love Ostrich x
ps its good to rant!
Morning Weldy,
Keep your spirits up, look how far you have come. I too have been reflecting on the debt I've built up. There must be a scientific cyle in this recovery process....maybe? Perhaps we have reached the realisation stage and we need to be strong to get through it.
Try a tot of whisky before you go to bed, it may help you sleep through.
All the best...................Jas x
Busy beavering away with work at the moment, so no temptations to gamble and on top of the situation. No complacency here though, and still working on this ODAAT.
Weldy
Well done for abstaining when your having a rough time. It will make the good days in the future a whole lot sweeter. Your not adding to your debt and am guessing you eat into it reducing it every month so stay strong, positive one day at a time and keep smiling 🙂
Thanks PSOWM & Jas,
Tuesday is now complete for me as I am about to get into the car and go to rehearsal. Bit of a drive and won't be home until 12.30 am so the day will be over.
Far too busy to even think about gambling which is making it easier to keep on the right paths right now.
Weldy
Hi Weldy,
I know how you feel with the debt as I'm still in the early stages of wondering how it's all going to get paid.
One good thing though is that we are not increasing the debt by gambling anymore, which means it will reduce over time. As you say we need to be patient.

It's hard to keep up with life sometimes! I find myself not struggling with gambling right now, but how to keep up with all the work I am being asked to do!!! I wouldn't have time to gamble quite frankly, which is a great complaint.
I have kind of generated vast amounts of work as a result of not gambling for the past two months, an excellent position to be in except I'm now struggling under the pressure of it all! Pretty ironic.
Must keep going though, ODAAT !
Weldy
Hi Weldy,
Happy you are so busy in these "credit crunch times".....don't over do it though. Us CG's seem to replace our previous behaviours with something just as compulsive..........difference is we ain't spending the kids inheritance, life savings, holiday cash, go out with partner for a nice meal, car, food, living....etc...etc..etc...
Keep going Weldy.
Jas xx
Ermm what can you do. One minute we are gambling too hard one minute we re working too hard , the next we are drinking too much, committing too much time to our music, watching too much football, not getting enough exercise , sleep , green veg, rest time etc.
So what , in fact so f*****g what , we on here know there is only one thing that will destroy our future and do it quickly and that is gambling. KEEP AWAY FROM GAMBLING Work drink and enjoy life just please keep away from gambling. It sickens me even thinking of it. Does that make me cured OF COURSE NOT , I was looking in the bookies windows after 113 days off will this ever end. NO It won't but it can be controlled , good luck Weldy.
Thanks for all your comments.
I will keep doing what I have been doing in the last 9 weeks, keep my head down and away from gambling.
I will be working into the night to get a piece of work finished and hopefully catch a few zzzz'ds before tomorrow as I have over 300 miles to cover tomorrow and then get back home to start again.
It's completely blotted out any thoughts of gambling being this busy, and that's working well in my recovery. And since I'm not making my situation any worse, the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter.
I'm thankful of that.
Have gigs every weekend for the next 4 weeks, then a stag night to organise and a best mans speech to write! (if anyone has any good gags they can offer i would be very grateful) They brought the wedding forward by a whole 11 months last week, so I thought I had ages to prepare, now I only have 6 weeks!
Seriously looking forward to the weekend! Then I can start my studies for the projects and exams I enrolled on last week!
Why oh why did I do that!!!
Weldy
Just read your diary, well done! I'm doing a uni course myself, don't know why now! Very hard work.
Keep busy & studying. Its looks like its definately working.
Take care
Vic
Hi Weldy great to read your positive posts. Its funny but back when we were gambling we didnt seem to have any time to actually achieve anything constructive and yet now we are forever busyand dont have enough hours in the day!!! we are achieving so much more in our lives and aint that a brill feeling?
Oh and the best man speech please please dont say anything to embarass the groom (as if!!!! thats what a best mans speech is all about heheh)
Still waiting for the day you get fully recognised and I can download your music!
Anyway glad you are doing so well. Luv Min
Hi Weldy
Good to hear you are keeping very busy and remain gamble free.
My mates cousin's best man had a couple of great gags but I can't remember them. I'll see him during the week and find out what they were for you.
Speak soon mate

Hi all,
Just checking in to report that I am still going well and will complete 10 weeks gamble free today.
It's been a difficult week as I have been so busy, but that has helped because there have been no urges to even think about gambling.
It does seem that as time passes the urges do start to diminish and also as a result, I am really starting to recognise my old triggers for gambling and head them off before they get started.
Having said that, I am fully aware that gambling only needs a to find a door slightly ajar in order to creep back into our lives and I shall not become complacent with it.
Best regards to all my friends.
Weldy
Hi Weldy
Just spotted one of your posts on Min's diary and I thought it offered a really strong message for such a simple statement.
Something about everyone having down days, even non-gamblers. Words of wisdom them mate 🙂
Thanks for your continued support of me & others. Catch you during the week.

P.s. 10 weeks hey - great stuff, well done 🙂
