[Closed] Stephen Stopped Gambling Saturday 22nd February 2020

Hi Stephen 

Great to see you on chat twice today. Always makes me happy when you are there. Strange that we’ve e both had bad dreams. I had two in one night - one about gambling and one about my ex; the last two things I’d ever wish to dream about. I try to think of it as a little reminder of what my past looked like and what I don’t want in my future. I say bad dreams but I guess they could both classify as nightmares ? both woke me up in a panic, more so the one about my ex so that really is saying something. I hope that after both having a good, relaxing Sunday that we both have a peaceful sleep with dreams full of beautiful, breathtaking views. ?

wishing you a good Monday and thank you for you scrabble post - it made me laugh and I sat there and deciphered the message. Super duper wonderful adventures I shall have ?.

Good evening my friend , hope you’ve had a good day and enjoy your evening stroll down to the pier , I will to be out moon watching I’m even going to drag my son out this evening , he can protect me from the rustling in next doors garden , I’m really pleased  to have you by my side a proper gentleman a true friend  ?

Just popping by before forcing myself to go to sleep at this silly hour. Working from home is really not doing much for my routine-it’s completely kaput ?. 

I hope you had a lovely evening stroll along the pier in the company of your super moon. 

I went out for a smoke earlier this evening and looked for the moon and it was really bright and then I thought of you and it made me smile. You’re doing so well my friend - really proud of you.

Thank you Zoe & Lively for visiting my diary. Your friendship and support has been a godsend for me during these difficult times and there will always be a place in my heart for you both. 

Still waking up with dreams but I now have a theory about it. For several days I have had a painful shoulder and I think it is that was has been waking me up. I looked up dreams and apparently we often dream so suppose I had just not noticed it before.

The super moon was an absolute delight to watch and we will be treated to another one this evening. I find the moon quite enchanting.

A beautiful sunny day and feeling on top of the world. Enjoyed a sunbathe on my balcony, pottered about a bit and then enjoyed a nice bowl of porridge with some nuts and fruit ?.

On my favourite spot by the river yesterday when a couple arrived and sat a reasonable distance away. They produced a bottle of champagne along with two crystal glasses and proceeded to laugh and toast each other.

Obviously they were celebrating something so I called out that I would move elsewhere to give them some privacy.

It transpired that yesterday was their 5th wedding anniversary. Sadly, they were having to live apart temporarily due to work and the coronavirus so they had met at the harbour entrance for a little reunion.

It left me feeling a little sad but happy at the same time.

Listening earlier to Gladys Knight singing "Help Me Make It Through The Night." A beautiful song and the following verse got me thinking about loneliness and what it means:

"Yesterday is dead and gone

And tomorrow's out of sight

And it's sad to be alone 

Help me make it through the night"

I am fortunate because when at home alone I rarely feel lonely but sometimes I have felt lonely in a crowded room and loneliness together with fear and guilt can be very distressing.

It is very lonely in a casino when the money has gone and without the taxi fare home it can mean a long lonely walk in the early hours of the morning.

I suppose I rely a lot on the angels for guidance and comfort. It sounds very foolish but whenever I entered a gambling establishment I always silently asked the angels not to come in with me. I was ashamed before I even went in but once I had set the wheels in motion there was no turning back.

These are uncertain times in an uncertain world and the only thing I can say without fear of contradiction is that none of us will get out of this alive!
