Well what a lovely day it is ?.

Having nourished the plants, flowers and trees ??? of Hull, the rain has decided to move on.

It is a trifle windy but we are hardy folk in this wonderful city so I am off for an invigorating walk to the riverside, marina and harbour wall for a few hours. That should blow away the cobwebs! ??

Will go in Tescos on the way home and treat myself to a delicious supper ???

Thank you Scotty. No doubt the home baked bread was delicious. I can still remember that wonderful aroma when I was a child entering my gran's kitchen after she had been bread making.

My walk to the waterfront was a joy as it always is. The wind had died down so I didn't get blown away.

I was feeling weary towards the end of my walk so gave Tescos a miss and when I got home enjoyed some baked beans with marmite on oat biscuits plus a couple of nice tomatoes. Not exactly a gourmet special but I enjoyed it.

Wishing everyone on the diaries a good day tomorrow

Stephen x

Thank you Zoe & Lively for your kind support and encouragement.

A fruit and veg stall has continued trading in the city centre so just off to give them my custom. It is outdoors, reasonably priced and they put it in bags.

This afternoon between 3 & 4 it is the last Peeraid Chatroom by Tony so hope he gets plenty of gamcare friends turning up to wave him off.

Wishing everyone on the diaries a good gamble-free Friday.

Hi Stephen

Thank you for your post on my diary and I’m sorry I didn’t get to speak to you in chat today. I took your advice and have had a very chilled out day and although I had planned to join lunchtime chat, I ended up having a date with my pillow. ? I think I needed it. I hope you have had a good Saturday and a nice walk by the river.

Thank you for the poem on my diary too - it made me smile. Wishing you a good Sunday and hope to catch you in chat tomorrow. I’ll make sure I don’t fall asleep this time. ?

Here’s to another day gf and ever nearing our 100 days. ?

Your friend,

Lively ?

Many thanks Scotty & Lively, good friends like yourself have restored my faith in human nature. Your kindness and support is greatly appreciated.

It seems that you have both had a challenging week so please enjoy a well earned rest from your labours. Now is the time to relax, take it easy and have a most enjoyable day.

I will visit the chatroom between 1 & 2 and hope you can both pop in for a Sunday Get Together.

Hello Diary.

It is a delightful day in Hull.

Overcast but dry and looking good.

On this day in 1527 Pànfilo de Narvàez departed Spain to explore Florida with 600 men. By 1536 only 4 of them were still alive.

I imagine that was a big disappointment so my song choice today is a tribute to them four brave souls:

"Things Can Only Get Better" by D-REAM

Wishing everyone on the diaries a super duper Sunday

Many thanks Zoe & Scotty. My welcome mat is always laid out for you and if I am out when you visit, please help yourself to a cup of tea and a piece of cake ???.

All good in Hull today and feeling quite perky so will go for a walk shortly.

On this day in 1536 King Henry VIII beheaded his wife Anne Boleyn who was just 29 years old ?. So if I start to feel sorry for myself or worry about one thing or another, I will spare a thought for how that poor lady must have been feeling when knelt down with her head on the block.

? RIP Anne ?.

Throughout history the human race have been faced with one disaster after another but life goes on and the river keeps on flowing so why not just enjoy our very own gamble free adventure, right here on planet earth.

It's time to Rock n Roll gamcare brothers and sisters.

Stephen x x x ???
