Great update Mixer. Hope you are feeling better today.
I was looking at the news earlier and it baffled me. There is all kinds of weird stuff going on around the world and it can sometimes be depressing. The majority of people seem to believe they can do nothing to change things!
But are our actions really so insignificant?
From little acorns oak trees grow & small changes in weather systems can cause hurricanes so maybe positive actions which we ourselves make can have a far reaching influence beyond our wildest imaginings.
A kind gesture or a helping hand can send ripples of goodwill and hope throughout the world.
And a gamble free life can help ourselves and our loved ones find peace, happiness and contentment.
Love and best wishes to all on the diaries.

Mixer.. Hope you feel better soo... And your trip to docs sorted it...
Boo
Thanks for the club
???
Hi all and one. Hope all are doing well. So many of us dedicated to keeping the devil at bay and so many wise words, quotes, poems and encouragement from all. I love this support and long may it continue. ??
Hi everyone I hope you are all doing ok?
Happy to say things are going ok with me, even after a hectic few days and not feeling 100%, gambling is still not on my mind!
LMG
Hello mixer.
Hoping you are well.
I think I am at a milestone today. Not absolutely sure. But if I am can you make my next one February 29th. Then I can say I have kicked the extra leap year day into the long grass gamble free.
Many thanks
Bye
Boo ???
Thank you xxx means a lot ?boo
*** Good evening! ***
And I hope you’re keeping well. I’ve been away for a few days, out of the country (in Portugal as I write) hoping a bit of sun will shake me out of my current travails. I’m with my young son, who needs attention pretty much 24/7 for various reasons, but this is a pleasure as well as a challenge!
Most importantly, thank you Ineffable for confirming the excellent news that Boo has surpassed a superb 100 day milestone. This, as we all know, is a real statement traversing a period where plenty of temptations await. So we congratulate you Boo on this very special day! And as for the Leap Year extension, consider it done. The 29th Feb will be added on the next roll-call when I return home at the weekend.

Uneffable - your story warns us all of the dangers of addiction and how temptations can visit us when we least expect it. For smokers, the waft of a cigarette can solicit revulsion (some say ex-smokers often hate smoke more than non-smokers!) or the pangs of ‘fond memories’. We’re all a cigarette, or g**ble, away from a heartbreaking return.
Lewis - I’m sorry to read you’ve been a bit below par the last few days but very much hope you climb back up again. Life’s like that, as we all know, it’s how we handle it that counts. So long as we do one small thing; make one small vow; then we’ll be Ok. We’ll certainly not make things worse!
***
Once again, it’s great to have another one of our fine fellow recovering gamblers hit 100 days. An incentive and inspiration to us all Boo!
***
Let’s keep strong everyone. And make good decisions. Here I am, in Portugal, where there’s no g**bling. So I couldn’t g**ble, even if I wanted to (Especially with a young boy in tow!).
I couldn’t have afforded this half-term trip if I was still g**bling, that’s for sure. Whilst still not financially straight, I’m trying to balance a fulfilling life and the anticipation of not g**bling again features heavily in my future planning. Let’s live in full whilst in recovery.
***
”Just for today, I choose not to g**ble. And I’m going to live in full too!”
Take care everyone. My next post will be at the weekend.
Mixer
Thank you Mr. Mixer ??Boo
Ineffable,
congratulations on reaching your century ?
I really enjoy reading your updates and insights. Look forward to seeing you pass your next milestone x
Well done you.... ??? Keep going forward.. Boo ?
Thank you for the update Mixer.
Hope the holiday in Portugal was good. Wishing you a safe journey home.
Seeing Boo Radley & Ineffable reach "100 Days Gamble Free" has made me feel real good. The courage, hope and resilience you have both shown has inspired me greatly and made me ever more determined to join you there on the 3rd of May.
Very good of you Ineffable to offer Mixer some help in running the club. He does devote a lot of time and effort in keeping it going and we all appreciate his hard work.
For my part I have been making very tasty "100 Day Club Sandwiches" and leaving them by my tablet which is left open on the gamcare recovery page. After a short while I consume what has been left over. They are quite delicious.
Only joking about the sandwiches but on a serious note I am 4 weeks away from my last bet and feeling very positive about recovery.
Love and best wishes to everyone on the diaries

Sorry Mixer and 100 Day Club friends but I gambled again and am taking a break from the club.
Apologies for messing you about Mixer.
Love and best wishes

*** Good evening! ***
And welcome, everyone. I'm safely back from Portugal - bit of an eventful flight back that was a tad bumpy resulting in my young boy being rather ill (won't go into details suffice to say it was rather sudden) but such are the delights of parenthood! It certainly waked me up from my deep slumber, I can tell you.
***
Ineffable - Thank you very much for your thoughtful post and consideration to my current predicament (suffering from extreme tiredness which, unfortunately, might be more complex than I first thought - but one step at a time). I appreciate your offer to run the thread for a while, and, to be honest, this would be immensely helpful to me.
I may need some time to step back and, given that our club is helping so many of us, it would be a crying shame to see it flounder due to my absence or inability to regularly post as much as I'd like to. I consider this our thread our collective home and ambition, and would be very grateful if you could take up the reins for the foreseeable. Without 'teaching a grandmother to suck eggs', I essentially copy'n'paste our roll-call table every few days, from the previous one, amending as necessary. Pretty obvious, I know!
Thank you for taking the helm which ensures our club gets the valuable support it needs. I personally really appreciate it!

How are we doing? If we do our best, what will happen will be for the best. And if we have a blip, shake yourself down straight away and refocus. Your honesty in reporting any slip-ups is immensely important to us, because you are acting in a dignified manner and showing the rest of us full respect. I'm writing these words to you, Stephen - because your honesty is a real beacon of light. You exemplify the Chinese saying which goes along the lines of: "Fall down seven times, get up eight". It doesn't matter how many times we fall so long as we learn each time and do our best to plug the gap next time.
Sometimes it's not easy though. Sometimes, through life's necessities, there will be gaps but we must always keep trying. Relapses hurt like hell, they really do, but we can reduce them and increase the time between them. The more we continue to learn about this insidious condition, the better informed and prepared we'll be - I really believe in that.
Keep going Stephen - and anyone else finding it difficult (which it is) - we are all behind you like you don't believe! You remain an incredibly valued member of our club. I've rested you for the moment, still in the rollcall, but please let Ineffable know if you'd like to be taken off for now. Whatever helps you, my friend.
Ineffable - Congratulations in hitting your target which I've mentioned before and will continue to reaffirm - is such an important one. When we hit a system that works for us then it makes sense to stick to it, and accordingly a new milestone has been added - 27th May. Another smiley added to our table - our collective aim? A sea of smileys!
