Hi Guys,

Thanks for the posts. I know I haven't been as active on here in the last few days but as only the men on here can verify, 'Man Flu' is worse than giving birth!!! (Brave or very very stupid I think!!!).

I hope everyone is coping ok after a tough few weeks. I personally am trying to get my life back on track after a very tough year. Starting with getting control back of my gambling habit (it's been over a month now and the more I think about it the more proud I am of myself).

Have a great gamble free week people.

Stay Strong

Steve

To go over a month is excellent mate. Nice one.

Just wanted to say thanks for the posts on my diary, you helped to pick me up when I was feeling very sorry for myself. Pleased to say I'm on the up again now. Thanks mate, and keep up the great work.

Way to go on getting the first month over with Steve, I hope to pass that milestone myself soon too.

You're right to be proud of yourself, because for me gambling has decimated my self-confidence as much as it has my finances, and rebuilding that is as good as rebuilding the credit score!

All the best

Ryan

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all your kind posts.

Had a bit of a tough day today. Legal proceedings are starting with the financial side of my divorce (legal side went through in December). My ex is being a bit of a cow if i'm honest, she is not replying to any of my solicitors letters requesting her to take my name off the mortgage, even though she moved her new partner in 2 days after I left nearly 9 months ago. I have really been left with no choice but to force her hand through court. I know it will get resolved eventually, but it is really bringing everything back to the surface that I had buried deep down. This in the past would have sent me into escapism mode and I would have undoubtably tried to gamble away my troubles. However, that isn't me anymore and i'm determined to not fall into that trap again.

Sorry for the downbeat post, but I really needed to get that off my chest.

Stay Strong

Steve

Yorkie-thanks for the post on my diary mate. Far from your last diary post being downbeat I actually thought how positive it was. Yes you are having to drag up the past but look how well you are dealing with it. You have not run off to gamble you are dealing with it head on. You have reached your first month and that alone is hard enough to achieve without having to think about and deal with your ex.

Keep going forward mate.

I CANNOT LOSE BECAUSE MY SOLICITOR SAYS SO

Maybe that could be the new phrase that pays!!!

All the best

Stumper

Nudge nudge Steve!!

Cheers for the post on my diary mate. Hope things are going ok for you?

I see Doncaster's winning run has come to an end. Still a great season for you boys. Maybe you can have a push for the play offs next year?

I thought the last but one episode of LOST was awesome. Very revealing for a change and the little head to heads between Jacob and the man in black are getting very interesting. Only about 7 episodes left. I'll be gutted then time is called!!

Take it easy Steve.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your posts. Things have been pretty hectic for me this last week, i'm having to pull major overtime at work to cover whilst we await a new manager. Bit gutted that the mighty Rovers have missed that late push for the play-offs, but probably a good thing really, punching way above our weight even at mid table in the championship.

I've managed to avoid the temptations this week, so very happy with that. Bit worried about the weekend though as i've got saturday off. Will have to post on here instead of getting sucked in.

Curly, should be a blinding end to the series of Lost and I will miss it too.

Stay Strong

Steve

Thanks for your posts Post, Jeff n Seano.

Had a bit of an indifferent day today. Not much happened. Worked all day so been busy. I'm in a bit of a dilemma though as all my workmates are picking their horses out of the sweepstake tomorrow and i've been the horse racing guy to ask for advise in previous years (hence me making sure I am off on Saturday). I would normally end up doing trips from work to the bookies putting on everyone elses bets so I could put on many more for myself. We would always have a 'pick out of a hat' sweep and also 1 or 2 (or in my case 3 or 4) real bets at the bookies.

Ironically I only put a few quid on the actual national but loaded up on the rest of the card and the other cards on the day and if I didn't win or sometimes even if I did then a lot more would go in the FOBT's. Come to think of it, it didn't matter if the bloody National was on or not, that's how most Saturday's were spent!!

So I suppose what i'm asking is should I take part in the sweep or not? If I don't questions will be asked that i'm not going to be comfortable answering. I'm adamant that i'm not going to the bookies to place a bet, but will a £2 sweep send me back to gambling?? In a strange way I want to take part (to avoid the questions) and then NOT win so I don't get buzz of picking out the winner!!! Not sure how comfortable I really feel about all this..

Any advice gratefully recieved.

Stay Strong

Steve

P.s I caught the last 20 mins of Fulham game. Great result. Surely Hodgson has to be up there as manager of the season?
