Day 3 and doing well. Life is very tough as my wife has left me along with my 2 year old daughter. She understands that it is a horrible illness but I have exposed her to financial difficulites and some of them were potentially very serious. I am hoping that once she sees all my debts and the plans I have for them that she gives me another chance. Life could not be more difficult.
However the positives:
Overwelming sense of relief - hopefully no more lies
I start a new job on Monday on very good money so I can start to repair the damage sooner rather than later
I have found some friends I can talk to that can help if I need to pick up the phone and speak to someone.
I also start my counselling next week.
I am looking forward to the future without gambling being part of it!! Each day at a time.
Hi Jae,
It's great to read how you find encouragement and hope in a very difficult life situation. You really have started to take responsibility for your gambling problem and for your life. You found friends to talk to, stopped hiding your problem, started counselling and a new job.
It would be great to hear how you are getting on with all the changes, each day at a time.
All the best wishes to you!
Gabriele
