Hi all. ive been reading through some of my old posts today and noticed that ive been doing the same thing for years. tried to stop and then its got worst.
Well im happy to report ive only gambled twice this month. and not for the last 2 weeks. also ive been given some counciling which is helping. I do feel like a never want a bet again.
the way i have stop losing big amounts is i have no internet at home, it is hard to do without it but if i wanna pay off the 18k of debt run up online its the only way.
at the moment i have no money to spend but as soon as i get some its going to go to credit cards. it is going to be a hard year but my target is pay off the 5k on credit card by jan (rest is a loan)
SO today is day 14!!! day 15 will be a record (the longest ive been without a bet in 4 yrs)
Just a pj day for me and the dog as rain all day.
I know how hard it is to stop but please keep trying

Hi thanks for both your posts. I'm still gamble free. Not really been near a town centre for the last 3 weeks. And it will be 3 weeks on Sunday since last bet. I recked my bank account so much 3 weeks ago I still haven't drawn any money out. It should go back to 0 in the next few weeks.
As a treat for myself I brought Interstellar on bluray. Cost me £12 (which I had spare in cash)
I've got £20 left to last me a week which will be easy to do. Got another councillor meeting next week too. So I'm on the right track. Feeling ok tho I wished I had not wasted £1000's.
I see things on tv and I could have brought any of them but not now. Going to be a quite year and I'm 3 weeks in and ok. I hope people read this and stop. Really had to put my life on hold until I pay off the debt I've run up on a pointless habit which gives you a high and nothing else. Please stop now like me no point wasting any more on it.
My life will start again next year this year I'm wishing away sad but true.

Thanks NT. Well 4 weeks tomorrow the most I have not gambled in 6 years.
And as I will not cross the line into the bookies as the would be me failing.
Bank account now -150 instead of -950 so that's going well in a few weeks I mite have real money in my account.
Not really had an urge to gamble but I have been staying away from places that have bookies and only going where there ain't one.
Been counciling, it has brought up memory's of the past that I had forgot about which I don't know if that's a good or bad thing , I don't think child hood is to blame for this. Just greed.
Living on nothing at the mo and it is amazing how much money we really need not that much , of course you have to pay the bills loans etc but after that. Food and petrol is not that much.
I've got he flu at the moment and it's keeping me awake some nights so I thought I would come on say hi 4 Weeks Tomorrow.

Im so happy I've not done 4 weeks for 6 yrs. I was tempted to have a £1 on grand national yesterday but having the flu stopped me moving out of bed lol. Tempted only cause it was all over the tv. Apart from this I'm ok. 4 weeks is big for me.
