Evening I,

Thank you also to you for your lovely support you've offered me so far. I was away for the weekend as you may have read but happy to report 26 days gamble free.

Just been reading you're planning on giving up the nails ? Good on you. I would say I'd join you, and it is my plan, but I'll let my head level out a bit more like you did I think before I take that on with you. Just happy I'm not gambling right now.

Enjoy getting your hair done. You've deserved it. You're doing really well.

Bilko

Thanks folks your posts are much appreciated x

Day 67

Focussed on cigs today! Patched up and trying hard- had 4 today (usually on 20+) so great progress 🙂

Hair appointment's booked- really looking forward to it. A wee "lift" for next week.....amazing really how something as simple as a haircut can really boost how I feel about myself. (so much more rewarding than f**s!!) If I buy cigs, I'll need to cancel so a real incentive to keep f*g free.

Not much thinking about gambling- had a quiet few days "urge wise"- kinda waiting for the "whammy"!

I was a wee bit scunnered when I heard all the hype about volunteering recruitment in the news for the Commonwealth Games......this is what I applied for weeks ago and they've not had the courtesy to reply!!!!

Badminton's rebooked for next week. Kinda wish I had a reliable, unfit mate who would commit to getting a bit fitter- an exercise buddy! I am still blanking my "running app"!!!!!!

Just a random note to remind me to explore more- found out about a working holiday opportunity abroad which sounds like something I'd love to do. ATM way down my list of priorities but I will eventually be in a position that I can commit!

At the start of this "journey" of mine, I'd never be dreaming of things like this or appreciating simple stuff................maybe folk were right 🙂

No snow yet- yipee!!!!!

Hi there

Used to do waking nights twenty years ago and still get insomnia now which is why I love this site as that is my danger time.

Deep snow here and my grandson's 6th birthday party cancelled, poor thing he was so excited.

Sound like you are doing brill so stay warm, sleep well and stay strong.

Day 70=7 weeks gamble free

Not much to report. A quiet Sunday in the Irene household.

Slept for a wee while this morning. Me n the Padster went for a cold walk (still no snow to report- just a wee flurry earlier which didn't lie). Visited sis, then evening watching tv with my son. Has a wee smile- used to be I'd have laptop on and just pretend to watch. Tonight was so much nicer- laughed at stuff cos it was funny, not cos I was prompted by his laugh. Oh, also washed car- its white again.

Getting there with the smoking. Did have some on nightshift- total 16 cigs since Wed. A great reduction from 20+ per day (just realised that would've been 100 bought by now- saved £40). Hairdresser here I come.

No major thoughts or urges to gamble. Instead of enjoying the experience, finding myself waiting for the next major episode.

Irene.

Seven weeks taking that stick that beat you back into your hands and beating it back!!!

Well done you.

I hope that wall you build through your resolve and endeavor keep delivering you more milestones.

With each days dawn you make a choice to lay another brick between you and the devastating addiction that is so destructive. It sits on the other side looking in disgust as today i can see how high it is, for that i congratulate you wholeheartedly.

Today lets enjoy laying that next brick.

Duncs stepping forward never back.
