Hey Irene

I've just returned here after a few months away and am trying again to stop gambling, I've promised myself that I will read at least one diary a day, and this morning I read yours. I just want to say that it is an amazing story of courage and determination- well done on 6 months gamble free. Its been such a privilege to read some of these diaries and I'm just in awe of you guys- but I am finding myself thinking, well if they can do it so can I. So Irene you have been my inspiration for today- THANKYOU. I wish you every blessing and continued success.

You are so right about not wanting to feel that way again yet I find my head fools me into forgetting so easily and catches me unawares.

Woofit walking is def the answer and would loveto get another dog but scared he would fall off the gangplank into the river.

Sounds like you had a good day today so wish you many more of the same

Day 185

Another challenging but rewarding day at work. Last week, work was causing me so much angst yet this week I'm remembering why I love it!

We had a wee bit sunshine today- whoopee 🙂 Managed an hour's weeding- my garden's small so how do so many weeds find their way there?

I'm starting to rethink my attitude towards exercise and seriously thinking about joining a gym (we can do it at a massive discount via work). Its really not something I've ever fancied trying yet would give me an inexpensive opportunity to meet people as well as get fit. 2 colleagues have offered to accompany me initially (made them promise not to laugh!!!!!!)

Generally, having a settled time- for which I am so thankful.

Hi Irene

great to talk with you on the chat again. Go for the gym, I think its a great idea; you don't have to go mad on the exercise but any is better than none isn't it.

Have a great day

Oi oi... What's this I read? Irene's going to join the gym?!!! Irene 🙂 I'm very pleased that you're coming around to the idea, you'll feel great for it! I'm making a real effort to use it and run more. Have done 2 gym sessions, 2 swims and a run in the last 4 days. Gym again tonight! Come on!!!!!

Sounds like you're doing very well Irene 🙂 proud of you lassie, keep it up!

Stubbsy 🙂 x

Cheers Stubbs- I'd actually rather poke pins in my eyes, but I'll give the gym a go 🙂

Day 187

Gamble free. Not much to report in way of urges thankfully.

I had loads to update last night, however didn't have time to post much and now I've forgotten!!!!

I did sign up to gym via work- piling on the lbs and can't face another faddy diet so I'm going to try the hard way 🙂 Actually, if I go 4 times a month, I'll be getting my money's worth.

Spent a couple of hours doing some tidying in the garden which is so messy- I'd love one of those flat, green lawns. However, its more like a wee personal jungle. Any time I put in plants, Paddy pees and kills them! Actually, gardening is a very sociable event and I tend to spend more time chatting to neighbours than actually pulling the weeds 🙂

I had another one of those "can't do right for doing wrong" days at work but hey its done- I know I'm good at my job and try really hard to progress stuff but always seem to put my foot in it! Still, can't let it spoil my time off or I'd go nutty!

Son popped in earlier- he's off to local pub (which he's missing since moving house). I hope its not a repeat of 2 weeks ago- he appeared at 1am- forgetting he'd moved!!!!!

I'm planning a wee pamper session for rest of evening- glass of wine time, rubbish tv and pjs- bliss 🙂

Tee hee thought that was funny about your son arriving home. I did that a few years ago when I was driving home to my last house and nearly drove to a house I had lived in twenty years earlier, weird and the senility hadn't even set in then.

Good that you get to see him though, my son has an interview thank heavens so fingers crossed and if he gets a local job might see him more as he trolls up to london every day now.

Lets hope weather ok this weekend and you can enjoy garden however jungly, as is mine.

Hello Irene and great stuff on your gambling free time and in joining the gym!!

I know at my gym/leisure club a lot of women enjoy the exercise classes be it zumba, aerobics type stuff, spin classes etc makes it more social and many are not high impact classes but pitched at the beginner. Give them a go perhaps.

Having said that they are not my cup of tea at all, though I do occasionally have a quick P**v through the window lol 😉 Usually I am solitary bloke pounding along on the treadmill. If I chat to folk it tends to happen at pool side and in sauna etc.

Anyway enjoy your gardening, that's exercise too! Regards.. S.A 🙂
