Hey,

Another week passes bet free. Left that 6 month mark well behind now. The site and the support on offer is amazing but ultimately it is you making that choice each day not to gamble. You should be continuously proud of how far you have come.

Even when things are tough or not quite settled you still move forward and it is inspiring for others to read. Don't underestimate your efforts and continue that forward motion even if sometimes it feels a bit static i.e smoking!

Day 197

Oh my! Just read yesterday's post- obviously I was tired lol- still, its there and will stay!

Good thing I'd no wonderful plans for today, the weather's minging!! Me n Paddy just had our morning constitutional, now soaked and thinking a duvet day may be ahead (saying that, I've cleared out my wardrobe and changed bedding) or maybe tackle horrible housework jobs in wee short bursts.

Things are good gambling wise. I've not been bothered much by urges recently thankfully. I did have a "moment" last week. Some colleagues arranging a lottery syndicate- I politely declined, however the thought was there. I really don't believe any form of gambling will be an option for me, ever. It wouldn't be fun, and potentially a road to what I've left behind.

Thankfully, my mood seems to have settled also. Now on day 5 of my detox diet (I have piled on loads since giving up gambling) to get me kick started to a healthier lifestyle. As with other things, I want instant outcomes- and I'm continually reminding myself that instant gratification isn't all its cracked up to be, that longer term results are much more satisfying.

I'm wondering though if I'll ever get used to not spending on credit. Usually, my cc would be out in force before payday- its strange having to wait to buy things I want. Again, this has been a bonus- less impulse buying 🙂

I'm starting to think about Christmas and plan to start saving a wee bit each month towards gifts. If I use credit union, I cant easily access any savings so no trigger for gambling urges!

Hi Irene.. I so relate to much of what you've said in your latest post. I am also very impulsive and find it hard to delay instant gratification and the wanting results straight away. I'd like to think that am better than I was but it is not easy. We are both a work in progress eh

Well done on your gambling free time, 200 days just around the corner, same goes for me. Regards... S.A 🙂

Hi there, sounds like good stuff going on with you.

I still have not managed to find any naughtiness, in fact wondering what the age limit is for it after yet another birthday.

Mega impulsive person me ( what is the difference between compulsive and impulsive) but like you say finances do put a block on it but still do other daft things on a whim.

Here's hoping weather improves so woofit walks are not so wet and windy.

Thanks Chaps xx (you were both around early!)

Day 200

I hadn't really planned this as a "milestone" day but it looks great written......200!!! So, I just had to have a celebratory walk in the sunshine.

Actually, I've had a great day. Work was funny and passed really quickly.

Still eating sensibly and feeling better for it. Still no got gym membership- apparently they only process 4 times per year (my date's 1st july! the notion will have worn off by then)

Payday and I've just paid my debtors their monthly dues- feels great! I haven't worked out an "end date" for my debts......hopefully it'll be before I retire lol.

Otherwise its a quiet day 200- yes, I am so proud!

Day 201

Today's been ok too. Changed my Friday afternoon activity and had a rare old time- didn't get home till around half 7 but it was worth it.

Got a text tonight from niece which really cheesed me off though- she's always been an arrogant git but she had really offended me today and I plan to never offer again. I have said that many times and still go back for more- why?????? I felt anger although didn't react angrily to her- dead chuffed!!

Hoping for sunshine tomorrow- local agriculture show and country fair which I plan to attend. It should be good fun and a chance to catch up with mates.

Hey Irene..

Double centuary 200.!! ...thats fab and look at evsrything thats changed in that time and how youve dealt with it all....

Its a good feeling clearing debts and not hiding ...I remember the days of shouting at the ATM machine one time for churning out a balance as I pressed the wrong button....I couldnt bear to look at my balance.

Now...I can tell you to the last penny ...lol

Keep posting ...and good for you choosing not to react to your neice

R and D xx
