Hi...this is an interesting point for me. What is success? When do gamble free days become a success?

I've got a decent tally of abstinent days but I'm very wary that once I've considered it a suceess, I'll want to reward myself by gambling.....complex mindset of a CG I suppose.

I'm not going to judge anyone here, but I'll continue to post in the recovery diaries as I see it as a constant, evolving recovery.

Gary makes a good point. I have personally known gamblers that have a year off gambling and have made massive strides forward in their lives, and others that have 15 years abstinence who then went back to it. Why?

It comes down to this: QUALITY over QUANTITY.

Abstinence (staying still) is one thing, a life with Recovery is another (which involves moving forward, growing, becoming who you were meant to be, becoming an asset to your relationship / family / work / community). Recovery helps insulate you from a return to old behaviours, and install new ones.
