Is there any way of claiming back a large amount spent on gambling sites over Christmas. Can I claim irresponsible gambling against the sites somehow?

Yes with respect I think you both know the answer and dont really want the answer spelled out. CW rightly responds and I feel you are not going to like it and need to start asking the real questions related to this horrendous addiction.

How you take that answer is a direct indication of how ready you are to admit it got the better of you and abstain from gambling

The answer lies within yourselves to stop gambling and recover from one of the worst addictions going. Please face the denial and what gambling has done to you. Understand the real odds and what you are actually being offered. You are being offered a dopamine trip with odds that prove its not an income scheme or get it back later scheme

Its a born again moment of learning why your mind is prone to being controlled in this way. It gets to the very root of who you are and what you feel.

Many are not ready for this as the addiction is complex and it goes deep. Its a drug habit and an emotional escape which takes over lives and makes them worse. Do you see the similarity between a class A or serious alcohol addiction? A gambling addiction controls cravings in effectively the same way.

More food for thought is that its not really money spent...more like wasted or chucked away. The very act of gambling could not be defined as responsible.

Ive been a serious gambler and I know that part of the thought process can be I will just win a bit here....You are missing the part that the gambling dens want your money fast and countless stories of misery show that.

I hope that you will both seek help and start the recovery journey. Its not all that hard with the right help and support

Best wishes from everyone on the forum
