When I met my girlfriend I told her all about my gambling, by the time we met my gambling was way way down, gone were the days of impulsive gambling, blowing hundreds and borrowing thousands as a result. I had counselling and used gamcares amazing services. I always maintain everyone is different often depending on the reasons why they gambled. For me it was wrong relationship with financial pressures at a very young stage in life.

Speaking to my girlfriend who is a non gambler, her family would dabble on a few of the big popular events as most do, we agreed she would have a betting account I could access and use. This meant any deposits she would be aware of. Any account information she would be aware of. This works well and I would find myself now and again making a small deposit of an agreed amount normally the prices of a meal or 2 at a wetherspoons...

Obviously on the site there are "free games" so for the past 3 months these are all i have played. 1 free spin on the mornings I remember about it and sometimes a couple of free games in an evening. This isn't a daily reoccurrence, I would say the more football I've watched the more it's reminded me of said games lately.

These free games never pay out alot, free spins, pennies, a few pounds... however when  I do win I use than money to play around with. Yes this is gambling but I am not actually depositing any money.. I thought last week I would see how much I have gambled using this way.

May - deposit = None , Gambled = ££, Return = £ loss = £

June - deposit = None, Gambled = ££, Return = ££ loss = £

July  - deposit = None, Gambled = £££ , Return = £££, loss = £

The gambling over time had increased from £ to £££ after a few nice wins during the games with the money I played with, Hindsight should of withdrew when it got to ££ but I didn't until.it was all gone.. as a gambler does. There's was no want to chase or no frustration.

I find it so intriguing how even just playing free games can amount to such values of money. I find it more intriguing that it also kills any urges I have to deposit any money, maybe realising even this way it all end in a loss eventually.

Absolutely amazing topic after I read this I had to comment on it as it relates to me so so much.

When I gambled back in days we talking about daily basis or anytime I had a hand on any money in the bank or actual cash whatever.

I use to bet on every UK online website until I self excluded with Gamstop.

I pretty much registered on 99% of dodgy international websites afterwards too.

When I run out of money I contacted every website that I was still using (International ones ) asking for any bonus that they could credit me with just to keep gambling as we all gamblers do.

Some of the websites gave me some free credits.

Which is very interesting what was said here that no win was enough for me.I made of those free credits with rollover requirements some money but when you in that gambling world money doesn't matter you just keep betting until everything is gone.

When I had that money I not once stopped and though hang on there's winnings let's withdraw that money and pay some bills.

No it didn't come to my mind that. Not once

What's the point of gambling then.

Once that happened I literally realised what the hell am I betting for ?

I stopped since that day and it always stays on my mind that there is no point registering or depositing again because no matter what no win is enough to be withdrawn.

Gambling is lie.I am staying away for good

@wbr9jcpn3y This is my situation and mindset right now.

May I ask did this realisation alone stop you?
