Not placing a bet is only the start yes everything has improved and for a lot of people this would be enough since learning about the addiction i realise true success will only come when the gambling industry is changed and are their to protect vulnerable people like myself from past present and the future with how technology is going and the way gambling is marketed its only getting worse since starting recovery even though their more forms for recovery it not addressing how the thing whats causing harm is being addressed how are gambling allowed to advertise on the false pretence using terms as montery gains "free" on the basis of entertainment when its clearly false advertising i studied business marketing and understand the implications how marketing generate sales it how businesses operate surely the adverts can sell gambling as entertainment rather then financial gain its all about maximizing profits as they know by offering financal  rewards it what attracts new customers who may not have been interested otherwise unless these laws are implimented in the near future problem gambling will continue to be a problem

Hi Taz

I couldn't agree more. Where do I start with the advertising and sponsorship

Obviously there is far too much. If you watch a premier league football match you will see 800 logo's of betting companies !

The messaging. As we know the addiction gives out dopamine whether you win or lose eventually. The biggest dopamine hit comes placing a bet or spin. Most compulsive gamblers get a dopamine hit when they are planning how to fund their gambling as well, it's all about being in action. So dopamine equals pleasure which equals fun. Even when it becomes habitual and robotic there is still fun around gambling alongside the mistery and we need more and more dopamine for the same feeling. So "When the fun stops stop". How did they get away with that ? It basically says carry on gambling because even at your lowest point you will remember an element of fun

VIP tactics pretending to be your friend. My VIP handlers would ask about my golf, work, holiday plans to try and sound like my friend and then mention losses following by the bonus - Praise b*****k praise. VIP's need banning.

Promos and leaderboards. As per your comments above these must be banned

VIP ticket give aways - I ended up spending more to try and get special tickets which must be stopped

You get warnings on harm on smoking. Why do gambling adverts not say that gambling can lead to anxiety, depression, breakdown, financial hardship, home loss, possion loss and suicide. Should be legislated.

They know who the problem gamblers are but do nothing about it

They share customer details when it works against them such as money laundering as the fines are hefty or customers who have an edge. They don't share details of anyone who has multiple accounts

Multiple deposits in one day - needs banning

Cash machines and contactless in arcades need banning

All arcades should be over 18 only

Free spins - banned

Cash back - Banned

Deposit bonuses - Banned

Out of hours gambling needs questioning

Deposit limits set at a maximum of 10% of monthly earnings

Hours of play limited to 3 hours per day maximum online

Removal of any marketing that says the words we care or family company

Separate websites for Sportsbook, casino, poker, bingo etc so there is no obvious cross selling

Self exclusion option of life, not just five years

And so on and so on.

It's like kicking someone with a broken leg
