yet I continue to bet. I don;t have a leg to stand on and I bet far to frequent and its made me reflect - why do I gamble?
Having a nice home, family, partner and job, what am I chasing?
Personally, it is a mixture of boredom, loneliness and lack of interest (depression!) in doing anything else. My saturday routine is up early, get a paper, bets on, sofa all day. Must have been the routine for 15 years - of course there is the odd Saturday when we go out but I will still bet on my phone.
I am looking to change, the arguments and pain I cause. Just thinking how and ways too...(gambled since 1998)
Hi there, I understand what you are saying,what it is that over many years your brain has become addicted,what are we chasing? Good question,but there’s a reward part of your brain that is involved,very complex stuff,I urge you to stop if you really want to stop before it’s to late and you lose your family, home life like I’m going through at the moment, I am depressed after being out of work for a few months and relapsed as was looking for that escape,not the first time so now my wife has had enough,trust me you don’t want to feel the pain or the dark places you go to when your whole world turns upside down,ban yourself from online and bookmakers,hand over finances to some one you trust,get out and about, I’m walking six mile a day and it is helping me,anything than sitting on the chair gambling,I wish you all the best to beat this hideous addiction if you really want to, you can do it mate! Anything compulsive is dangerous in particular gambling and will screw you over in the end, people who don’t do this don’t understand it,like myself I don’t at times how you can go for a long period without placing any bet and then relapse makes it hard to explain why? For me I will ensure once and for all I will never be in this position again.
