Today, me and my husband had spoke about the letter I left him last night in the kitchen when he finished work. He knew something was up before he came home. He said that he’s going to start helping support me through this, plus he’s happy that I’ve come straight out with it rather then lie and deceive him! (Which is something I would normally do) but I’m determined to not let gambling be my downfall anymore! I will come out of this on the other side, gamble free and happy! I’m so glad to have found a forum which has people like me going through the same and being able to get that little support! It’s so nice to not feel like an outsider!

Hi, you should be really proud of the way you have changed your approach and not tried to lie to or deceive your partner, that takes a lot of courage. I'm really pleased your partner is also going to support you through this as that must be a big relief and comfort to you. With your determination and the support of your partner and the many lovely people on this forum you will definitely come out of the other side of this into a gamble free and happy future.

Take it one day at a time, take care of yourself and never be too scared to ask for support or advice.

We are all in this together 🙂

I am really happy for you that your husband is supportive. I have told my partner yesterday but I left out the bit about being in debt but today I have texted him on my way to work about everything and he was really supportive -we will talk about everything tonight. He had friends that were very addicted to gambling and spent a lot of money therefore understand how difficult is to end it. Hopefully we can move forwards to a happier and better life without gambling controlling us.

Take care

X

Thankyou. It took everything in me to be as honest as I could with my husband. He’s big on having finances in order so when money is mentioned usually outcome is a row, but I’m tired of rowing over money, so best to be open and honest! It’s been so lovely being able to come here for advice or a chat!
