Morning everybody
for the 5-6th time i'm trying to stop gambling and am determind this time sick of lying and sleepless nights everything that goes with this addiction I've done a couple of things to help , going to have my wages paid into partners account so i'll only get money for my direct debits, food shopping ect ... also got gamban on pc so its helped a lot but the thing is i've run up a cpl of credit cards with high interest rates so i done a soft search on hsbc for interest free balance tranfers they said I had a good chance so applied anyway they did'nt say yes or no but they sent me an eletronic credit agreement and I could'nt open it so I phoned them and they are sending me one through the post i'm just wondering does anyone know if i've been accepted if there sending me credit agreement or is this just formallity ? by the way Ihave talked with my partner and if i'm accepted he will keep hold of the card , I just want to try reduce these high interst cards and have lower monthly payments which without the gambling I know I can afford .
any info or help would be great
thank you and best of luck to us all

P.s I could phone them but I'd rather not ....
Hi Izzy1960
Congratualtions on being 8 days free. Regarding your question about the credit card, I am not sure that anyone on this forum could answer that for you. People here can talk about their own experiences but no-one can second-guess whether you've been accepted for a credit card. We normally suggest that for information and advice about debt, you can contact National Debtline, Stepchange or Payplan.
Now that you've used the forum a few times, perhaps you might want to move on from the New Member Intros section and start a diary in the Recovery Diaries section? Or for one off topics, Overcoming Problem Gambling might be the best section.
Wherever you decide to post, we hope you do continue to post and keep in touch with your gambling recovery journey.
Best wishes
