Hi I stopped gambling a year ago, then I had a email for a site that came up don’t even know why I did it I had blocked all sites and blocked me using my bank cards but for some reason I seemed to be able to put credit in then I just couldn’t stop. Fell so low cryed all night realise that I have let everyone of my family down and my partner.

Dear @trishg

Thank you for using the forum and coming forward for support.

Don't be too hard on yourself, 1 year gamble free is a huge achievement and should not be under estimated. Use this as an opportunity to learn and revisit your barriers you have in place to see if there is anything else you can put in place moving forward.

If you would like to talk to someone in confidence from the helpline then please give us a call on 0808 8020 133 or you can access our live chat service here both of which are open seven days a week, 24 hours a day and where one of our advisers will be able to talk, for as long as you need, and look at all the support available to you.

Wishing you all the very best and keep sharing,

Regards

Ben

Hi Trish,

Sorry to hear you are gambling again. What is the extent of the gambling now? Is it compulsive?

Ben is right, to not be too hard on yourself. Relapses hurt the most and the potential for loss is endless. I have had a blip and lost a lot of money after lot of days gamble-free.

Stop now whilst you can and before too much damage is done

All the best,

BGT

Every time I have relapsed I ended up going longer and longer gamble free. It feels like the worst every single time. But if i have to I will relapse another 100 times until I beat it. You made it so long. Keep fighting.

I am same I was off gambling for over a year then stupidity I set up a betting site on my girlfriends name for the grand national so we could pick horses. I ended up betting more on football my girlfriend didn't know the extent of my gambling problem but she closed down the account as she was worried how much I was spending. Now am going to bookies outside my town so I can bet and am as bad as ever I hate myself for it. But instead of being too down beat I need to beat this and work harder to stop for good. I am reading some of this forum we are all in the same place chatting with each other and reassuring each other that only solution is not ever gambling again. Relapses might happen but its about learning the triggers I need figure it out as am struggling
