Hi everyone

Guess were all here for similar reasons, I have a gambling problems with horse racing mainly online betting and have been gambling now to an extent where the consequences affect my life for about 4 years. I have lost a consiberable amount of money (thousands) over the past 6 months but everytime go back to it thinking that today will be the day i win. I probably break even about 70% of the time i gamble and have a good win every once in a while but when i lose the loses far outweigh any of the wins i have and just push me further and further into a bad financial position and closer towards depression.

i can generally go about 7 to 10 days after a bad loss where i will tell myself enough is enough but always seem to end back on the slippery slope where my mind gets bored or something comes up and i just think if i can just win £50 that would be helpful. Sometimes i do win that and then the slope gets more slippery until i have that bad lost of anything between £500 and £1000 which far out weighs any of the small victories i have gained.

I guess once i get over the shock and the feeling of the loss i start to feel better and then i might get paid from work and the cycle starts again.

Well i am here to break my cycle as i cant keep on like this as i now owe money to family and this is quickly making me feel worse and worse. I need to break my habbits and change my life round and i am just looking for people with similar issues who are trying to get help to chat with on a regular basis to try and help break through to the other side.

Here is hoping

Rich

Hi everyone I've been a gambler all my adult life not only as it cost me thousands hundreds of them but also destroyed several relationships my problems became much worse when fobt became the bet of choice in the bookies I've often lost £500 in one session and on the odd occasion I've been in credit I've played on until broke I know there's no reason to that and I know I'm not alone and the bookies open from dawn till dusk now just for the money they take on these machines as it far outstrips horse betting so after losing another thousand I'm now trying to break the cycle self exclusion is a must if you are to have any chance of stopping as this is my first job which I will be doing first thing tomorrow .All gambling does is bring you isolation and misery you don't have many friends when your sitting at home skint and your mates are socialising I'm hoping I can now kick this with the help of gamcare and cousellig wish me luck
