Hi

My name is Michelle and Im 28 and I have come to the realistaion that i need help with my gambling. It started of about 8 years ago with just the odd football coupon then it went onto roulette and online gambling. I have lost several thousands of pound of my own money and also money i have obtained on credit or from family. It has reached the stage now where I am black listed, family wont trust and i am continously leaving myself with nothing just for a quick fix of gambling online.

Hi Michelle, well done for taking the first steps inadmitting your problem. The fact you joined here indicates your admittance of your problem and desire to try and do something about it.

I must admit im also a very new member [only joined last night] and therefore cannot really give you 'proper' advice - im sure other people will though!! All i can say is that your not on your own and with advice ans support and by taking things day by day over the course of time you will see the light at the end of the tunnel.

i myself have been gambling for 17 years, its all i know and its a part of me, its a scary thought thinking of how hard it will be to turn off that desire in your brain to get that buzz/fix. Today is only day 1 of my journey (sounds soooo cheesy!) but im just gonna try take one day at time.

I wish you all the best!

Mark

Hello Michelle,

GamCare offers practical advice and we can facilitate a referral to face-to-face counselling.

We're open from 8am until midnight, 7 days a week. You're welcome to contact the GamCare advisers on our freephone 0808 8020 133. Alternatively, you can use the Netline:
