I feel these forums will help me a lot, although I may not post much.
From reading many stories on here over the past couple of days I have realised many many people are exactly as I am, I always thought it was just me who had such a serious addiction and the feelings that come along with it. But even knowing there are many people out there who suffer from this evil addiction brings a little hope to me that I can succeed in giving up for good when I see people having given up for anywhere from 1 week to 10 years. If one addict can do it then why can't I or you. I see it as a challenge to get my life back on course and live as I did pre gambling, that was many years ago. I am 30 and have gambled around 14 years, the last 7 odd years none stop every cent loads of debt the usual. But I feel very optimistic

I found that the best way to get rid of an urge to gamble is to come on here and go to teh FAMILY FRIENDS board. Read the stories on there of heartbreak, divorce, kids being affected, etc and it soon puts any urges to gamble ot of yoru mind when you get a reality slap like that reading that board.
