I have just completed 28 days/ 4 weeks gamble free - the first month of no gambling for probably 7 years. This diary is for my next target.
My next target is 50 days gamble free which will take me to 1st August. I am starting to get a taste of the freedom of not being in the grip of gambling and I want to continue.
The two biggest things that I have allowed gambling to steal from me are:
time
money
I cannot get that time back; it is gone. But what I will do is write in this diary about what I am achieving with the extra time I will have. I want to enjoy July.
i cannot get that money back; it is gone. But what I can do is document in this diary where all money apart from committed monthly outgoings and living expenses is going. Without gambling, there should be a healthy amount left for various pots and one off expenses. There should also be no withdrawals from my ISA/ pension pot which I have been plundering so badly.
By the end of July, I will have my first ‘clear’ monthly bank statement with no gambling transactions or large cash withdrawals.
As it is now past midnight, my 29th gamble free day has already started.
