on a side note (sorry if I’m posting too much)

Does anyone else get a sense of freedom with being at rock bottom? I have debt that will need to be paid for years and years to come. But somehow i feel free that I couldn’t physically gamble even if i tried.

Sure this wont last. But f**k it. Enjoying it whilst its here.

I think when you reach rock bottom you reach a point where even your gambling urges disappear for a small time. It is a tough way back because as it sinks in you will realise where you really are.

All the best, seek debt advice and please restrict your access to funds.

Yes, it's an odd feeling. But the thing I would say with regards to "hitting rock bottom," is that don't ever think that things can't get worse. Quite often hitting rock bottom is not actually rock bottom at all and it's only when another mistake is made that we realise things can always get worse with this addiction.

I've said it before, but the initial hours and maybe even couple of days after a big loss are often the easiest to deal with. The most difficult period comes in the next week or two, or the next month, when life starts to get incredibly dull, when there's nowhere else to turn and our minds drift back towards gambling.

You can actually see it on here quite often. I think a lot of people come on with the best intentions after a big loss and talk about how this time it will be different and that they're truly sick of gambling. It's normal to feel that way in the hours after a loss, but we often feel different a little further down the line.
