Hi, everyone out there. Just to say I have been gamble free for over three months. If you have read my previous posts, you will know what a desperate situation I was in. I was suicidal, in debt, and scared to tell my partner.
thanks to this site, GAMSTOP, and honesty, I have been able to confront this problem head on and beat it. My partner is supportive, I'm lucky. I was also terrified that my iva would fail when they did their review, I was honest told them my situation and my payments have remained the same for the next year.
what I'm trying to tell you all, is that I really didn't think there was light at the end of the tunnel, but believe in yourself, try, try again and you can achieve this. My life is now worth living, I have faith in you all, if I can do it, you can too, keep fighting.

Massive well done Jacky on your achievement, I'm only 2 weeks GF. It's hard but I feel so much better already, I actually sleep now and theres no tears when I lose my wages in 30 minutes
Well done! X
Hi Jacky .
Just wanted to say a massive well done on reaching 3 months gamble free , that's a huge achievement and one you should be very proud of , the biggest thing is how much your life can change in such a short period and a far cry from the day's of old :)) .Â
Take care and wishing you well for the next 3 months ( half a year ) :)) . xÂ
Well done Jackie that’s fantastic. You should be very proud of yourself. I’m 2 months gf now - like you Gamstop has helped a lot .Â
Well done Jackie.
Be proud.
It used to feel strange to say that as we all know the issue we’re dealing with and the negativity that brought us here.... but that makes it all the greater an achievement in my eyes. Be proud, find strength in what you’ve already achieved and challenge yourself and others around you to stick at it!
Â
That's fantastic Jacky!
My partner has been gamble free almost a year and continues to do well - it can be done!Â
Glad your partner is supporting you, it's difficult times but keep putting the effort in x
Thank you everyone, I feel it's a massive achievement, but as time goes on it gets easier, I make an effort to reward myself by buying something nice for our home. Â Something I couldn't do before, and believe me I lost so much weight because I couldn't afford to eat, that how bad it gets. Â When I say something for the home, I litually mean buying a few mugs or new bedding or towels, I get a kick out of the small things I couldn't do before. My heart and best wishes is with you all, you can do this and so can I sending out love and best wishes to you all xxxxxx
Massive well done.just one wee word of caution. We never beat this, it will always be there.
Keep going.this is for life
I was also terrified that my iva would fail when they did their review, I was honest told them my situation and my payments have remained the same for the next year.

IVA = individual voluntary agreementÂ
Â
an arrangement to pay the debt agreed with creditors at an affordable amount. Â
