HI Steven and welcome to the Forum.

It’s a great step that you have admitted that you have a problem and you’re taking steps to recover from this. We want you to know that you’re not alone in this and that there is a lot of support to help you on your road to recovery.

This support includes advice on ways to block access to gambling such as through self exclusion, blocking software or potentially blocking gambling transactions through your bank. If you’d like a greater level of support we can provide free 1 to 1 treatment, group support or our online CBT recovery course. If you haven’t done so already, I’d recommend you give one of our Advisers a call on either our Helpline on 0808 8020 133 or our NetLine, they’d be delighted to go through options available to you and ensure you are fully supported on your road to recovery.

We look forward to reading more of your posts.

Kind regards

ChrisK

Definitely not alone. Hopefully your wife being aware can help you tackle it.

God knows it's a lonely road to tackle without support.

Hi Steven and Welcome to the forum.

You are far from alone. You are one of millions around the world who gamble too much and have a gambling problem.

It takes guts to face it and tell the truth.

Deregulated gambling is a scandal of monumental proportions and it creates addicts fast.

The secret was no good for you...look at the truth on your bank statements...face the truth that it was actually making you stressed and miserable.

You will learn that it is a drug addiction as it acts just like substance abuse. It affects millionaires and people from all walks of life because its long past being all about the money.

With all the help you will recover. Recovery is about turning the fact that you can never be complacent again into a positive statement.

Best wishes from everyone on the forum.

Your far from alone my friend just read through some off the posts on this site and you will see how many people actually have a gambling problem, and we're the ones that admit to it I would think there so many others out there that feel so much shame admitting it, but to admit you've got a problem is you being strong and the first step to getting this evil addiction under control and believe me it's not a easy thing and I think I'll always be a problem gambler and everyday off my life I'll have to stop myself from gambling as it's like a magnet but with strength we can pull away from the vice and each day is a triumph. Keep the stories in your head as there true and will help you beat this destructive vice
