Hello Andy and Welcome to the forum

The best thing you can do is put your faith in trusted people trying to help you...... being totally open and honest with them about a gambling addiction.

What makes you a real man is admitting it had you beaten and reaching out for all the help you can get

Abstention is the only way and the cold turkey must be backed up with strong blocks and living allowances

Starting with a born again moment you have a lot to learn as your mind slowly heals and becomes stronger

However you can never be complacent again about its power. You will find a peace of mind when you get your life back in order

The answers are within you why you were vulnerable as gambling was never the answer to who you are or what level of money you have.

Its a recovery journey you start with the "wax on, wax off" principle of basic awareness and learning

There is no shame in a proper recovery and accepting responsibility for your actions

Its a complex addiction and the truth is that something highly addictive was pushed on you so dont be too hard on yourself.

With a healthier mind you will begin to see gambling for what it really is. The key is treating this like a drug addiction just like alcohol smoking or other substances.

How you live life and see the natural pleasures in life will help you through this

Best wishes from everyone on the forum
