I am new here. I was gambling addict for 6 years and now havent played for 2 months. And every day of those 6 years I told myself - I wont play, not this time, I have to pay my bills. The hardest for me was that, that I lied to my family and friends. They know, that I was addict, but I allways said, that I am free now. And they trusted me.
Why I am writing here? Today after those six years I believe, that I wont play again, but I need help from my closest people. So now I am working on mobile app and computer programm and want to know your toughts. I want programm, which every time, when I log in my casino account or just open site, will send my friend a message and email. Like - she is doing that again - call her, help her. And I will make sure, that there is no possibilty to erease this programm without my friends noticing. I now, that that will help me a lot to stay away and ho more that 2 months.
So what do you think? Would it work for you too?

Hi Zancis, congrats on two months that's great, and it's good that your trying to help others by thinking of these solutions.
I would say it seems a huge task, firstly the bookies will just say they have self exclusions available if your a problem gambler, and they wont go out there way to stop making money by adding a new feature to help avoid the site (assuming they would need some sort of software at their end for your app to work). Also there are site blockers out there which stop you getting to a login screen ? to nip the problem in the bud before requiring a message, never used them but K9 comes into conversation on these forums a lot.
However still think it's a good positive idea and wish you all the best with what you come up with.

About app. I dont want to ask casino sites for feature. I have talked to programmers and they told me,that if you understand that all, you can make this aplication on your own. Sites wont be blocked, but your closest people will know, that you have gambled. When I look back on last 6 years, it would have helped me a lot, if my family had known. Just this feeling,that I am not alone and could talked to someone about that, because every time, when I lost money, there was new lies and stories, but with this app, I could not lie.
