Hi guys,

I am new to the forum.
Lost everything, my house I sold recently, money I borrowed on trust from friends and family, loans, cards I owned . Now I have no where to run. Probably might need to file for bankcruptcy. Although i habe a job, for now which can pay the basicbills. Very nervous with wife and kids totally dependant on me. What have I done and what to look forward to. There is nothing and I can never rebuild my life. I do not know what to do or continue with my useless life at all. Anyone who has been in my situation and managed to come out, can please advice if it's worth to continue my journey, and how to go about it?

Thanks
Ams

Hi Ams , it it sounds like a difficult time ,one that I am currently going through after years of addiction .You have people still there to help you , I used Stepchange to help me with my finances which was a massive help as like you I had in hanging over my head with nowhere to turn and they have helped me focus a bit more and supported me , I also got help through this website and have been seeking counselling to help with the addiction , you have your family and a job which is something to keep fighting for , good luck with everything

Hi Ams, so sorry for everything you are going through. I just wanted to echo the advice to contact StepChange - they really helped me. Don't despair, and stick around here to tell us how you’re doing.

Hello Ams,

Feeling your pain right now. I've been there and in the process of coming through it so please hang in there and seek advice and guidance as you see fit.

Take care pal.

Simon

Hi Dal83, lil30 & Simon - thank you for the advice. I am assumig , most of us have been in the same boat, and nobody else can feel the pain and advice me better elsehwere hence the ask from experience of others to see light at the end of tunnel, if there is. I am contacting SC to seek help. I
have died hundreds of times while still being alive with every transaction i gambled, and it went the opposite way. I only want to change my life, to make life better for my kids. I hope there is a higher power who can help me to turn it around and support from people.

Thanks
Ams

Hi ams if you're an online gambler put blocks in place, sign up to gamstop. Get to GA. As said stepchange for debt. Call gamcare. Get support for your wife. Gamcare offer counselling for both of you. Gamanon also help for family. Don't continue alone this is far bigger than you think. Your actions affect everyone around you.

Hi Merry go around, Thanks. Yes, the biggest sufferer in all this is my poor wife. She has been going through all this to ensure kids have a safety net, somehow. Else there is only help from council and no one else. You can imagine her suffering and suffocation to live and tolerate someone like me, shame I realize this post losing everything material. I wish , things were different and I can make her life better and live up to my vows, provide her comfort and joy instead of worry and terror.

Thanks
Ams
