Hi Rosie,

Welcome to the Forum, it's really good to have you join us.

I am sorry to read that your gambling has become worse more recently and this has led you to feeling very down on yourself.  As many of our Forum Users have experienced gambling can lead to depression and the feelings you've experienced to 'do something silly to my self'  I wondered if you have spoken to your GP about how you feel?

It's a good step forward to hear you've gone three days without gambling, and as you have discovered finding other things to do with your time can help with the urges.

But there is a lot of other support available too, support such as self exclusion from gambling websites licensed in the UK through Gamstop

There will be other tools you can put in place, for example blocking software or blocking gambling transactions through your bank. As well as tools there is also the option for Free 1 to 1 support to help you with the urges you may experience. One of our Advisers would be happy to go through these options in more depth with you. You can contact them on either our HelpLine on 0808 8020 133 or via our NetLine

I am sure you will receive a lot of support from our Forum Users here,  you can also access peer support through our Chatroom every day at 1pm and 8pm

Kind regards

ChrisK

Hiya Rosie

Well you've done well stopping yourself for 3days as that's an achievement, if you want to stop for good you can go to gamstop and gameban and put blocks in place so if you do feel the urge, you'll be banned from most sites. I don't know if your in debt as this can keep you chasing your money trying to win it back,  and we all know on this site its an never ending cycle. I had to tell people close to me as I lost nearly  £8000 in 1hr and that was after being gamble free for a year. So when I did that my mental health problems where so bad as I saw no way out therefore doing something really stupid that I should never have done, I guess you'll know what I mean,  Well I got out off hospital 5days later and everyone knew, well everyone who was close to me. I had used my partners PayPal  so I had put her in thousands worth off debt. But atleast the lies stopped now it's one day at a time
