Hi Nate,

Welcome, congratulations on coming here and for not gambling since Tuesday.

My first bit of advice would be to get blocks in place e.g Gamstop Gamban ect.

Talk to the team here and get the help and support you need.

I know its hard to stop thinking about it but try and keep yourself busy/distracted anything to take you away from it all. Do you have any hobbies or things you enjoyed doing before gambling took over?

Hope this helps

All the best

Hi Nate

i hope you are well and just going to add a little onto sensesfail reply which is my personal experience and my beliefs.

first of all you’ve done the hardest part by admitting you have a problem, since Tuesday stopped chasing the losses and realising this cruel addiction cannot be fed no more.

as above my personal belief is to be open and honest! I thought I was going to lose everything, wife kids family! How wrong was I!! My wife has been my rock, my parents managed to get their head around it and helped me and keep an eye on me and check in occasionally with questions of “you’re ok?” Being good??

the time and person I have gained by not constantly worrying about money, head in phone, chasing , feeling sick is unbelievable! I’m still early stages of 6 months but feel on top of the world!

honesty is best policy in my opinion!

once feeling on top of the world though you must make sure you don’t get complacent! That’s where your blocks help, I’ve had urges, dreams and thoughts but you have to talk yourself out and if you’re not strong enough the blocks kick into place.

I wish you all the best and trust me the people on here are lovely and experienced probably every emotion you are feeling.

stay strong

Hi senses fall my only Bobbie I had before gambling  was working but kick the he'll out of that as I was for the last 4 to 5 year averaging 112 hours then I got out and change job and that's when the gambling roughly started so trying to figure out what I like to do other than working in kitchen and gambling but I'm trying my best to keep busy trying to find zoom group and stuff just now struggling with that a bit

Hi Nate,

If being in the kitchen is your thing then go for it, if it takes you away from it then that's great. I do a diary on here every so often, I also found at the very beginning reading everyone's stories helps as your not alone, we've all been through it. I couldn't agree more with Dean07, exactly the same for me thinking I would lose everything and all the advice given is bang on. Be open and honest and try to move forward. Hope your keeping alright ?
