Today, I gambled. Again. And just like every other time, I promised it would be the last.

I've been promising this for more than 10 years now. God, that's 100% of my adult life, and more than 33% of my whole life! Why is it that even after 11 years of loss and misery, I still have this uncontrollable compulsion to head to the bookies/casino/wherever? Shouldn't 11 years of loss and misery give us an aversion to this disgusting concept?

Well, this is the first time I've ever registered in a community of likeminded people. This will be the last time I promise that it's the last time. Why? Because this time, I'm telling you all, and make myself accountable to the entire community.

Don't wish me luck, but please wish me strength.

Well done for joining wrecked writer and you will find the forum an invaluable help.

Its what the internet does well and you can use it to read the stories, to chat and to learn a great deal about the addiction.

Is there anyone close you can also talk to because you will now need the born again or phoenix moment to put all the blocks on and ideally live on an allowance while your mind heals.

Keep talking and please ring gamcare because the one to one voice is a great focus if you just want to pour things out. They will listen and offer you great help and advice.

You must be ready though WW to read and act without delay on all the good advice you recieve. We have all lived your gambling emotions and fully understand where you are now.

Think of this as something that wasnt available before the internet age and its a great focus along with counselling and more local help which we do recommend.

Being gamble free is a wonderful feeling of freedom.

Best wishes from everyone on the forum
