Dealing with an old problem which has resurfaced again, delighted this site is here.
I gambled since I was 16, fruit machines, sports, poker you name it I gambled on it. I am annoyed with myself because I had CBT and beat this thing 5 years ago, had 3 and 1/2 great years with no thoughts on gambling, got sloppy had a hugely stressful work year last year and it started again not at the same levels.
Looking for support and to be supportive to others. Today is base camp but I will climb the mountain again.

You haven't mentioned if you have already but I would encourage you to call our advisers who are available 24/7. They are able to support and advise you on how you can move forward from this. Thankfully, Pearl Jam recorded a song which I think is both relevant for us when it comes to gambling - "Not For You." I can identify with your current predicament, as I too had a fair period of sobriety before succumbing again. Sad, bewildering and frustrating. Thought I had it beat, but I was wrong. In these testing times, It's good to unburden yourself, as all the shame and anger that goes hand in hand with gambling is like an albatross around your neck, which in turn becomes a lonely, isolating place to be in. Thankfully, this place is a refuge in testing times. Not seen anybody judge or put anyone down and that's what we need to fix ourselves. Good luck and remember gambling is Not For You (And for me!).
