Hi - I am new to all of this and this is the 2nd topic I have started tonight (apologies if this is the wrong way to do things). I made a fake bank account and took out a loan for 10000 in my girlfriend's name. The bank was suspicious and has now frozen this account. I have told my girlfriend and my parents - this was the catalyst to make me admit I have a problem. I am going to the bank to confess what I have done - what is the worst that can happen to me?
Anybody got any thoughts please?
Mate im pretty sure this is classed as fraud and is obviously illegal. I don't think it carries a custodial sentence dependant on past offences etc, but i think you would get a record and almost certainly ruin your own or your gfs credit rating etc.
If you have already admitted to your gf i see no need to go to the bank unless they are chasing you. If you have already spoken to your gf why not sit her down and speak again, she may support you and be willing to close the account or go in with you.
I don't think you should be doing any of this alone, SPEAK TO SOMEONE! family, counsellor, or anyone who is alittle more in the know.
Anyway hope your well and gambling free, stay positive!
