Hi - I am new to all of this. I have read a few posts which say the Gamblers Anonymous groups vary in their quality. Any ideas how I find the "better" groups? I live in the Leeds Area. Thanks for any replies.
Hi
Everyone is different you have to keep going whatever. You will realise this after a month or two. Well worth going to one but try commit for a month or two whatever and take it from there.

Help everywhere can be a bit of a lottery
i've rung gamcare and spoken to some lovely operators but i've spoken to some lousy ones as well
GA i've found to be the same so keep trying if one meeting doesn't feel right to you
Hi Nab,
Welcome to our Forum, and well done for making your first post.
With regards to GA perhaps you may want to have a look at their website at http://www.gamblersanonymous.org.uk/
Each person’s experience of GA is an individual one so please bear that in mind. They are a friendly community of people who too struggle with their gambling and a lot of people find it helpful to listen to other people with similar experiences who can empathise with you and also you could learn from how they overcame it. They work to a 12 step programme which you can read more about on the site as well.
You are also welcome to call our helpline or netline to speak to an Adviser who will be able to talk through some other options to support you.
Triangle - we're sorry to hear that your experience of us hasn't always been positive. We do try to maintain a consistent service across the team. If you do have specific feedback for us, you can let us know at feedbackadmin@gamcare.org.uk
Best wishes
