Hello everyone, this seems to be my catchphrase (one last time), but as we all know it never is ..... until today ?

well ive been gambling for 5 years or so, lost heaps of money . it all started with a tenner here and there but soon snowballed into bigger things . I started gambling on our joint account credit card ... I thought it would be ok, i pay the bill i have access to the passwords etc, she would never find out ?

i was so wrong ..... about 6 months ago a yearly statement arrived on my doorstep ( never been sent one before !) anyway i arrived home from work to see the said statement opened on the side ! (oh s**t)

The wife was not best pleased to say the least . we had a big fall out but in the end she was very supportive and i agreed to pay it all back .

i didn't gamble for a few months but here i am again with not a penny in my bank because i have blown it all on online football bets !

i have had probally over 30 different accounts ... i usually self exclude after a loss, then the next day reopen another. Anyway here i am again saying to myself that's it never again , and i bloody mean it this time !!

Hi woodenhead,

Well done on posting on here, it shows you want to change your ways. Your story resonates with me as I too have so many online accounts (not even sure how many). I too self-exclude and/or close down an account after a big loss and abstain for a bit only to open up another account days/weels later.

It's probably better your wife found out when she did as in the end the truth always comes out no matter how hard we try to conceal it with lies and deceit.

I find what helps me to stay away from gambling is to keep myself busy with other things as much as possible. If you find yourself bored and the urges to try 'just a tenner' become stronger then log on here and post about it. Starting a recovery diary maybe a good idea to keep note of your progress.

Take care

Hi Warren,

Thank you for your kind words, I realise now that the only winner is the bookie ! and I am not going to give them another pound ...
