Good morning Dans,

Understand your english prefectly and you have come to the right place, we are all here for the same reason gambling in one form or another. You need to know what type of gambling you are doing online, bookies, casino's, bingo there are blocks that can be put in place that will stop you from gambling. The first couple of weeks are a test and with the blocks in place it helps to get past the first couple of weeks.

There will be people better placed than me to give advice.

Stay Strong Stay Gamble Free.

Hi Malc. I have been trying to find a free block for my iPhone. I can't seem to find any that will just block gambling sites. I know if I can find something, it will help me to stop.

Good luck dans. I hope u succeed

Hi Danchex,

Welcome to the forum, and thanks for sharing your story here.

It sounds like you’ve been struggling with your gambling problem for 3 good years, and even though the last year or two have been the worst gambling time, you’ve not given up trying to do something about your gambling problem.

I could see that you’ve already started getting responses from fellow forum members, encouraging you to do what it takes to be rid of your gambling addiction.

Well, Gamcare is also ready to help and support you every step of the way if you follow the advice we offer.

At 21 years of age, you hopefully have many years ahead of you to move from being a problem gambler, to leading a gamble free life.

I will thus advise you to let go of all your losses (that money is gone and you won’t have it back), to focus on your recovery, and to look forward to a gamble free life. Trying to chase your losses will end you in deeper and huge debt.

I think it would help to put some strategies in place to prevent you from gambling. Meanwhile, try and keep yourself busy; replace your spare time with other activities or hobbies to distract you from gambling.

Are you aware that you can also contact us on our free phone Helpline on: 0808 8020 133, and speak to one of our advisers for anything bothering you about your gambling problem, and also for further help and support?

An adviser can refer you to 12 sessions of free counselling, if that would help you to stop.

I suggest that you do your best to stay in touch with us so we’d know how you’re progressing with your recovery, and also to enable us to encourage you to stop since that is what you are after by coming here.

Best wishes to you, and please keep posting.

Beatrice
