So yesterday I made the big decision to join back gamcare also I went over to GameStop and applied for self exclusion for all online gambling sites. Later on I will be phoning self exclusion team to block myself from all betting shops. Casinos and arcades and any other gambling shops. The problem started 4/5 years ago I’m addicted to online and in shop slot machines. Every pay day I say to myself I won’t go in the shops or go online. I also deleted sites that I have but then make new ones and end up gambling all the money. Yesterday was the day after gambling I said to myself it can’t go on. I can’t go shopping without entering a betting shop I say to myself and my partner I won’t go in today.... but always end up in there. So I feel much better and proud that I have gone a head and self excluded.

Dear jadelouise96,

Well done for taking the steps to self exclude. If you are also interested in gambling blocking software then feel free to get in touch with us on Livechat or the helpline. There is also a list of banks that can block gambling transactions on our website  under finance and debt management.

Best Wishes

Fiona

Good for you Jade.......its a long hard road and most of us have been there and are still on that road but keep going and never ever ever gamble again or it will open the floodgates and you may well start all over again.

I wish you luck but please be aware that after a few days the euphoria will wear off and you will be desperate to gamble so be strong and don't do it.

Best wishes.....Mick

Hi Mick

Thanks for the advice I took the most steps to blocking all gambling. Never thought I would do it I only ever blocked websites and then made new ones. Only this time I’ve gone with gamstop and blocked access aswell with self excluded from bookies. I hope you are well and get the help you need.

Best wishes to you.... Jade

Hi Jade.....I didn't get any help as I knew what I had to do and simply had to get the courage to do it.  I'm on that road and am happy with how things have gone but I've been here before. I once gave up for nearly 2yrs and cannot believe how daft I was drifting back into it - its cost me a fortune and I bitterly regret it.

Happy Christmas!

Hi Mick.

I needed to get the help as I’ve been gambling since 18 now I’m 24 so I decided to do everything I could to not gamble. I didn’t want to get the help at the time I kept saying to myself I haven’t got a problem and I can quit without the help. But I was lying to myself. I hope you are doing fine and keeping away from gambling.
